Landing Services have been bugged for so many patches now, and its such a huge waste of time trying to fly to different stations trying to find one that works. CIG please fix.

repairing minor damage does not work for me on most days .... so when I heard them say it in the video, I was surprised too, but had little faith in them XD

some pads are bugged and some pads won't accept some ships depending on the pad size. also, servers that are overburdened will fail to notice that your ship is on the pad 9 times out of 10. you have to pad-hop and server-hop a bunch of times.
BTW: another issue is if your ship is not perfectly centered on the pad (by using autoland), there's a much lower chance that the pad will register your ship and provide maintenance services properly.

Try on a platform at a mining outpost. They usually work.

The issue is that most of the pads and hangars are bugged and they simply don't want to repair any ships... but it works - when the pad itself works

Thanks for this. Like you said, it could be a bug, or he was thinking about a different branch. As a programmer, I've gotten confused about features in different branches myself. So I wouldn't judge him too harshly. I think you tried most every scenario, and it's not in. I've been a little frustrated with repair in 3.21. Sometimes in 3.20.0 it didn't register that I was on a repair pad. Haven't had the issue I. 3.21.1 yet but I haven't played long. But people have been making bank with the criminal towing missions (it requires disabling the comm relay if you want to avoid a crimestat)

u can manipulate the tractor beam from the turret screen like the other ship board trackers beams on cargo ships

You had the same reaction I had, but I was preoccupied and couldn't hop in to test this so thanks.
The only thing I would've done differently is to try requesting landing from one of the soft death ships before attempting to repair it.
Either way, they obviously need to fix some things for this feature to be viable.

They probably mean the manual repairing with the multitool and RMC. Or replacing the components.

A fix for the repair pads not working used to be to take off, and recall for another pad. You should be able to do that as long as you call the station in the damaged ship.

Wouldn’t surprise me if even high-level devs aren’t aware of what does and doesn’t work for players on live servers as opposed to what works on internal CIG builds. I don’t know either way: just saying it wouldn’t surprise me if they didn’t know.
