Children aren't racist from birth, it's learned from adults.

Unfortunately the more nit picking the more the kid will retaliate.

Racism is taught. Misbehavior is taught.

Preschools are not culturally sensitive, and our lack of understanding of other cultures is embarrassing in the US. When I was employed as a daycare assistant, I witnessed religious dietary restrictions being violated, religious items like Ariana Kaiyiru getting caked in poop and not cleaned properly, and babies with course coily hair not being properly managed or cared for through out the day. The level of ignorance and lack of motivation to educate is absolutely unacceptable because I just ask the parents and learned from them. They almost seemed relieved I was asking questions to make sure their babies needs are met and then come the gifts in food form that I was grateful for. If you don't care about babies needs get a different job period. It's not like the pay is good any way. It's the same as a minimum wage job just starting, but with the added bonus of college debt if you wanna make a career in pre k education.

This is true. I worked in a nursery 2-5 yr olds. Two little boys were very naughty. Both had same behaviour. One white one black. But only the black child was advised to have therepy

Gotta love that logic. The conflict between black men and police being caused by gangsta culture and glorifying of crime as a way to fight oppression? No no no. Its because teachers keep more of an eye on black kids. 😂

If you’re an actual preschool teacher like I am, you were 100% looking at the entire group of children’s hands and observing the nonverbal cues that preschoolers give. “Misbehavior” is simply communication and kids this age are still learning to share.

Remembering my middle school pre-ap reading teacher, who always got mad at me and everyone I interacted with (I’m white and asian) but never anyone else even when I was bullied. 💀

There are so many factors to take into account as to why this happens, it’s not always racism. Teachers could look at a kid for longer because, say, they remind them of some nice kid they know, or maybe the kid is the same race as their own child and they’re subconsciously paying more attention to disciplining them. So many more.

The problem with this study lies in many things, that is not really that valid. Try this in a darker room, I am sure they would look at the white kids.

This is because our eye natrually find contrasting colours weird, so we would of course look at something that does not align with the background. Black children in the video are visibly out of the background.

Even I looked there and not because of the potential challenge behavior, rather that they are oddly out of the background so my eye automatically moves there.

That is why tests like these are not that valid. It is like as if you had 8 brown dots in a background that is black and 2 white dots. You would innately look at the 2 white dots... Because they are differently colored.

This is not racism, this is simply human nature.

I'd be so curious to see the study don't with ppl outside America. In canada I know I would assume a white boy to be more of a trouble maker since black students here typically come from immigrant parents and are well behaved. Our indigenous population has systemic trauma similar to black communities in America so I would also predict we may have a closer eye on those students when compared to other races. It would be very interesting to see the difference.

Premise: how naughty are the childrens
Reality: how naughty are the teachers

Could also be that more boys missbehave when they have bad fathers. The focus should be on holding fathers accountable
