This really hit me hard. I was a foster child when I was 10. My foster family promised to take me with them on their family Disney trip with their 2 kids. On the car ride to the Disneyland trip, they stopped at one of their family members home and left me there. It was extremely traumatizing to be left with more strangers by myself and with a broken promise they made me. Now that I'm 41, it still hurts my heart to this day. I can't believe that there are people out there like this. As a child, I was already traumatized by being ripped out of my family's care. Then strangers playing with my emotions. So, I definitely know how Tristan felt. It's heartbreaking 💔.

As someone who grew up right by Disneyland, has gone a bazillion times, and who still LOVES Disneyland at almost 40, it made me cry hearing that Tristan got left behind during foster family trips and is getting to go to Disneyland for the first time! Makes me sooo happy knowing he’s getting to do stuff with you guys that he didn’t get to do as a kid ❤

I've heard that the foster care system has laws about not taking foster children out of state, or away from home for too long, or not being able to miss court-appointed meetings. Maybe that was the case with Tristan's other foster families not taking him on vacation with them? Just a thought. If it was their choice, however, they didn't need to be foster parents.

So sad that Alex always seems to miss out on family fun. It's great that he is always a good sport about it though. I love that you do different trips with small groups. All of your kids hit the jackpot in the parent lottery! Hannah's purse is like Mary Poppin's bag. She just kept pulling more and more things out of it to show Holly. Usually only a mom can fit all those things in her bag. 😂

Crystal. We did foster care for 2 brothers. We had a Disney trip plan before the boys. The boys had some Behavioral problems that might of had asked to leave Disneyland at any moment. Our counselor said until they knew how to be a part of the family that we should leave them at home. We did but the next summer we took both boys’

I was a foster parent and took my kids to Disney. I adopted the two kids. But if u had not been able to I would have still taken to Disney. I never went to Disney as a child but took my kids and went. I also went to Disney by my self after I graduated from college it was my gift to my self.

Most Din Tai fungs are located in shopping malls. My family loves Din Tai fung. We love the soup dumplings and the shrimp fried rice. We also love the spicy wontons. Just fyi Downtown Disney has the first stand alone Din Tai Fung.

That is heartbreaking about Tristan, in my family (3 have kids) if we go on vacation everyone's invited but especially all kids are (recently became 5 after 2 recent nephews, I one and he's the oldest, but everyone's included) and at one point my sister actually took my nephew in as a 'foster' when she was young with a new baby and getting married, but nobody left behind in this family! Love you could make this happen for him!
