Well, it was lossless before I uploaded it. Yes, it's a crappy 360p upscaled video...I haven't found a good 480p version. Looks nice in the standard youtube window. Enjoy the music, I synced a near-lossless 256kbps WMA track to the video.

The ending of a mans life, a man who left a legacy that will echo for generations to come. Never has a song such as this so perfectly displayed the brevity of life, a theme that all of us can relate too.

Have yet to watch this without crying. That record still stands. Yah bless, the Man in Black.

Every time i hear this song, it makes me cry and rethink everything.Just tears me apart. Why do we have to be so rude and hard, why we, humans are made to hurt each-other. Why is there no peace
It just stabs me in the heart.
RIP Johny.
I wish we meet someday in Heaven

This makes me feel like I've never heard real music before in my life.

"When Trent Reznor was asked if Cash could cover his song, Reznor said he was "flattered" but worried that "the idea sounded a bit gimmicky." He became a fan of Cash's version, however, once he saw the music video.
I pop the video in, and wow... Tears welling, silence, goose-bumps... Wow. [I felt like] I just lost my girlfriend, because that song isn't mine anymore... It really made me think about how powerful music is as a medium and art form. I wrote some words and music in my bedroom as a way of staying sane, about a bleak and desperate place I was in, totally isolated and alone. [Somehow] that winds up reinterpreted by a music legend from a radically different era/genre and still retains sincerity and meaning — different, but every bit as pure"  wikipedia

This song literally makes me cry every time even after a handful of listens, and I can't tell why. Maybe it's the beauty and simplicity of them melody, the aged and broken tone in his absolutely haunting voice, the pleas and cries in the lyrics, the symbolism that follows suit in the video, or the fact that this man is gone and this is his final and possibly greatest legacy he left by taking a brief look back at his life.  All I know is that this song makes me feel something that I haven't felt since I hear Jeff Buckley's adaptation of Hallelujah and that feeling didn't stick with me and haunt me as this has.

So much meaning on so many different levels. Honestly, this song brought constant tears. This is a man that has passed away over 10 years ago, and he was singing till the day he died. Even after his wife soon passed away after this video.

I couldn't agree more. I am only 27 myself and I discovered Johnny Cash when I was around 20 or 21. I own every album and every collection he has ever done. I watch Walk the Line on a regular basis and my 3 yr old son watches it with me and sings along with me to Johnny's albums in the car. Among all the different types of music that I enjoy rap, metal, rock, alternative, dubstep, etc, Cash will always be in my top 5. His music stands for something and I will pass his values on to my family.

R.I.P The man in Black
This song made me cry alot! :'(

"You're gonna cry, cry, cry and you'll want me there,
It'll hurt when you think of the fool you've been.
You're gonna cry, cry, cry."

You're right Johnny

what an honour it would be to have johnny cash use one of your songs & make it his own, especially in his finals days...

We watched this in my History of Rock and Roll class yesterday, and it took everything I had not to cry. There's so much emotion in this video, in his singing, and I know Johnny didn't write the words but he lived them and you could tell he was feeling them when they filmed this. It's amazing what one man can do in just a lifetime.

I heard this song, maybe 150 times, and still I`m impressed. This monumental song says everything that needs to be said. Be aware of the fragile life we have, take care

2:08 it starts to get really haunting and emotional as it shows him looking at what i'm guessing was his childhood home. The video was well done. It goes down that path as the song does..

Johnny lived and played very hard during his life and when I saw him in concert when he was about 37 yrs old he looked like a man of 50, but he was one of the BEST artists certainly of my life time..a true legend!!

I'm not usually a believer in the metaphysical, but I think Trent Reznor and Johnny Cash hit a strain together (Reznor with the writing, Cash with his last performance) that transcends mere comparison.  To call Cash's version a mere "cover" isn't enough.  It's like they both touched the same energy in the universe, and Trent wrote the song for Cash to sing it, and Cash electrified the song into something legendary.  There's no comparison because there wouldn't be one without the other.  They both tapped the same energy at different times, and the alchemy of songwriting and soul baring is an alchemy that few have duplicated.  There's a third strand in the rope as well - whoever created this video and edited it tapped into that same energy.  Cash elevated Reznor, and he did the same for Cash.
