Great explanation for newbies! You should explain VTEC to all these jdm heads lol

Honestly one of the best explanations that I’ve gotten after say 3-4 years of hearing about this concept

It’s important that you make it clear that there’s two types of anti lag- rally cars do not use a tune to do this, it’s a physical system of air ducts and valves. You can mimick this with an anti lag tune that retards the timing and pumps gas into the exhaust, but it’s not what rally cars use.

liked how you explained that🤝hope more is coming...

So, don’t have anti lag on a daily, you will be paying mortgage on gas 😂 great video man.

Some kid drives around my town with anti lag on everywhere he goes. His car lasted a year and now he has a new one with anti lag which I'm assuming will last a year

You explained 2 different things at the same time. 2 step and anti lag are similar but slightly different...

I think you're confusing burble with antilag, antilag on accel, timing goes negative, afr and so on to spool the turbos. and burble is on deceleration from injector over run

Now talk about the downsides to it too. It ain’t a perfect system

Subaru in WRC actually has a quite more advanced form of antilag, using a seperate combustion chamber just for the turbocharger to keep it spooling between shifts and for launching the car off the line. They dubbed it the "WRC rocket"

Kind of misleading and inaccurate...not all rally cars are turbo..wrc perhaps but...you can have a na car and pop like that. Your mixing two different happenings as one.

How to catch fire in a street setup situation. Lol

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure anti lag systems on rally cars and drift cars also have an anti lag valve which sends fresh air into the exhaust when the throttle is closed or else it wouldn’t work like you explained. You need air for combustion to take place. But you also have a different type of anti lag, which is the type you often see on supras and such. That system doesn’t need the anti lag valve because it requires you to pin the throttle open for it to work. I think that’s it, if I’m wrong I’d love to hear the correct explaination 😁

I'm impressed. The dude literally has notes in his lap as he speaks

Where is the very first clip from? That's showing a fresh air ALS which I would put 1 level above in sophistication than what you are describing.

Oh man yalls minds are gonna explode when you look up cold air injection anti lag. Fuel trim antilag actually makes the car sound like it's bogging heavily. Very dull sounding not a lot of pops and usually only one big bang coming back on throttle. Group B and group A used cold air injection and it's considered the real anti lag and not just a fuel trim kick up or a timing adjustment in a tune. Literally uses an air valve so when the turbo comes off boost instead of venting to atmosphere or recirculating in the impellar side it shoots the compressed "cold"air into the turbine side and it makes HUGE pops bangs and flames. It works so much more effectively than fuel or timing trim tunes but its a true race only system and usually reduces turbo life to 1 percent of how long it's supposed to last. But dear God...the sounds of heaven form the pipe is just menacingly beautiful.
