The new all-electric Macan offers great dynamics and a more family-friendly interior with a larger back seat. But for its nearly six-figure price tag, we were hoping for a bit more performance and speed out of the Porsche. What do you think? You know we live in crazy times when a 4.8 0-60 in a n SUV in't "considered" fast. EV's have most definitely changed the game. I still have a 2001 Mercedes ML55 which has a 6.4 0-60 time and it still feels pretty quick. I can remember when it was considered crazy fast SUV aside. Good stuff.

I get Porsches are supposed to be more expensive, but $100K with very good $60K competition is a big swing.

Someone needs to recalibrate their expectations if they think a 4.8 second 0-60 time is slow. Also, this and an Ioniq 5 N are apples to oranges. Completely different cars.

Even for a Porsche $100k for this level of performance and interior quality is INSANE 😭 I had high hopes for this considering how many VAG cars it’ll share platforms with, but seems like a bummer excluding range and charging performance

I am driving electric since more than 7 years and that one still talks so much about acceleration numbers is absolutely silly, as long we not speak about specific performance models!

If you own a „normal“ EV you push the pedal in the beginning a couple times and you feel like the master of the universe. But after your passengers have called you out or gotten sick you start driving „normal“. And latest if you start thinking to by new rubber every 5000miles you stop these accelerations anyway.

So better focus on ride quality, efficiency, build quality etc.

Why do people purchase vehicles and never check to see if a car seat will fit? Why do car reviewers purchase expensive base models and then complain that it's not fast? Good review, keep it up.

I test drove a Macan 4 and I agree it felt too slow. The sweet spot is going to be a Macan 4S. You can spec out a 4S with Premium Package, Leather Package and all the essentials for about $92-94K. 4S comes with nice looking 20” standard wheels so no need to upgrade there, and also comes with Surround View standard. It’s pretty simple, just don’t go crazy with options and spec it out for what you’ll be using it for every day, and be realistic that you don’t need Sport Chrono on a car to get out of a Costco Parking lot.

I'd be interested to know how Porsche is justifying that price tag. It just doesn't make any sense. Seems like a nice enough car, but you'd have to be a pretty serious Porsche fan to consider it at that price.

Sport Chrono package with Michelin Primacy tires? The tires are the reason the acceleration, handling and braking was average. Just change the tires for PS4s and im sure that every metric will a lot better, except range. It would probably make 308 miles like it supposed to.

Good thing about the high price is that Porsche can easily fix that flaw. Lack of one-pedal driving makes it "no way" for me.

I went to a porsche track event and got to drive a 911t, cayman gts, cayenne S, macan gts, taycan, and macan EV 4. The macan EV was shockingly good. Everybody I was there with got out of it and was like “whoa that thing is awesome”

The interior and driving experience definitely justify the price tag. If anything it was better than the taycan. Cayenne S, 911T, and macan EV stole the day. The cayman, gas macan, and taycan were just kinda blah compared to those cars.

Great review on the Macan EV I was really hoping Porsche would come out that car at the time I bought my first EV, two and half years ago I bought the Genesis GV60, now seeing this video I made the right choice for me the Genesis is so far ahead 100% happy with range, charging and reliability, Porsche are going to have to work on there EV's a little more, however I do love there nav system . Thank you for the video.

This obsession with supercar acceleration is so lame. It's a transportation device for driving on public roads. Edmunds, I expected more from you.
