a straight forward tutorial... you’d be surprised how many unhelpful tutorials are out there. This is a great video - thank you!

Just a note. When attaching a leader to fly line, put the fly line loop through the leader loop, then pull the leader through the fly line loop. This will give you a connection that’s a bit more forgiving on your fly line loop.

This guy is cool. He explains stuff simple, straight to the point and no fluff. ... especially for a novice fly fisherman who's been wading through a sea of youtube nonsense. Thanks. Again .. great info! Much appreciated

Tried this exact method and had my best day nymphing yet. The clear difference, a 2 cent piece of split shot applied above a knot exactly as described. I owe you big my man, you just made this sport a ton more fun!

Thanks from Scotland. I liked your idea on how to tie droppers using the eye. I've always tied extra line on to my rig. Your method is so much easier 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇺🇸

Thanks for this tutorial Patrick. I found it very helpful and appreciate your simple explanations. My experience is primarily with dry flies, but I really want to become more proficient with nymphs. This helped demonstrate things I had questions on. Looking forward to watching more!

Don’t know if you’ll read this but shoutout to the camera person for doing their absolute best to follow your hands as you speak and demonstrate!

Newbie here! I just came from my local fly shop and he explained this setup to me also. This is an awesome video that gave me a visual to his explanation. Thanks so much

Bottom line----this by far is the best way to fish a double nymph, I've been using this same setup for years and landed a lot of trout using this exact setup. Glad someone finally presented a straight forward illustration for this two nymph setup. thanks for sharing

Patrick, I think your series is so helpful. I'm just starting at 62 years old and I need all the help I can get. I don't have the time to learn as a 20, 40 or even 50 year old. Please get into more detail about any prospect of fly fishing you can, or if possible get in contact with me.

Hello from 🇨🇦 I hope you are well and safe with your family.
I stumbled upon this channel, probably because I search out fly fishing enough I was bound to run across you.
Your presentation is very, very good! You give clear instructions and you don't waste words. Well done. Now I have been buggering around with flies since 1969 and as I got older I realized I will never learn everything. Case in point, your video here.
I grew up fishing in British Columbia Canada. We can only fish a single fly. I found myself in Alberta, where people generally fish three nymphs under an indicator. I had no idea about tying up multi-fly rigs so a couple of guys showed me and I have fished that way for a few years now. They do the first fly through the eye then each successive fly is tied into the bend of the previous hook. Heavy fly at the top thought sometimes I reverse it.
I never liked this method but I stuck with it. I caught 90% of my fish on the trailer, I wonder why.
So I watched this video and I really like the method you use. I will try it and let you know, once the ice is gone!
I look forward to catching up on your educational series, you never stop learning right! Stay safe down there!

Nice vid! Might have an improved connection of leader to fly line if you put the fly line through the loop of the leader, then feed the end of the leader through the fly line loop. Creates the typical handshake connection that results in less hingeing.
