your videos are well done and explain clearly what you are trying to communicate. As a newbie only out about 10 times now, I like learning the lingo. If I am in Columbus I will defiantly stop by

This is why I like cassette fly reels . I can have a float, sink tip, slow and fast Intermediate, slow sink, medium and fast sink lines, and different weights and it saves me a fortune in spare spools .

Hi Brian, Luv your channel..learned lots...One question from this video.. You recommend for people starting out to use a weight forward line .. My question is why weight forward and not a standard double taper line ?..Thanks in advance and greeting for Netherlands.

Hi Brian. Sorry for referring to you as Kelly in my previous comments, but great stuff all the same. My question is, though: how can you gauge fly line that comes loaded on second hand reels, that have no indication of the gauge? I have a number of such loaded reels, and, being a total novice, have no idea on how to # the lines. Regards. Ray

Hey there. I'm from Northern Ontario, I was wondering if there was a line that would give me decent coverage for the fish I'll be going for. I'll be going for smallmouth, walleye, lake trout (early spring), northern pike and muskies. Is there a line that would be okay for use on those species? If not would you be able to give me an idea on what lines I should buy?

Hi, great video! I’m relatively new to fly fishing and would like to know what you would suggest the best line for targeting stillwater trout around 3-6 feet down? I’m using a 5 weight rod/reel and this line would mostly be using blobs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello. Thank you for great videos how to start fly fishing, amazing job guys. This season I would like to start dry fly fishing with fiberglaas rod 7, 6ft 4wt medium action. What is your line recomendation for that rod? Weight forward or DT?. Best regards from Poland.

What’s the best way when switching back-and-forth from floating line to sinking line? Can you just attach a 5 foot of sinking line to floating line then leader and vice versa or do you just have two separate reels rigged for each application?

What fly line would you recommend for helping to turn over heavier flies and get the max distance on a 6-8 specified rod?

I’m just starting out and I was wondering what would be the best line and leader for panfish and small trout and other fish? I already have the backing line
