NETGEAR Orbi Wi-Fi 6E Mesh Router Review - 6 Months Later

Показать описание
The NETGEAR Orbi Wi-Fi 6E Mesh System is a top-of-the-line mesh router system that boasts some serious performance with it's quad-band technology, something not every new 6E router system has on the market and in our experience, it has certainly made a difference in terms of speeds. But, this system also comes in at an incredible cost. So is the cost worth it given the performance you get?

We'll answer that question and breakdown the entire experience of this router system including it's router design, ethernet jack support on both the main router and satellites, the Orbi app and some features NETGEAR has put behind a paywall like parental controls, plus we'll walk you through just how fast this mesh system has performed for us and any other issues we've run into while using it.

There is nothing better than a review speaking about ACTUAL product experience. Well done Josh!

Great video! I’ve had my Netgear CM1200/Orbi AX4200 set up for 2 years now, and I absolutely love it personally.

This review is a game-changer for anyone looking to upgrade their home Wi-Fi setup! The NETGEAR Orbi Quad-Band WiFi 6E Mesh System looks incredibly impressive, and your comprehensive breakdown of its features and performance really helped me understand its capabilities. The fact that it's quad-band and supports WiFi 6E is fantastic for ensuring fast and reliable connectivity throughout the house. The satellite extenders sound like they provide excellent coverage, and the dedicated backhaul is a smart design choice. Your review gave me the confidence to invest in this system for my home network. Thanks for the great content! 🚀📶🏠

Got this for $1, 100 EBay rerun with two year warranty. I know even at that price it’s still nuts. But I never want to ever think about my router and this one does it better than any.

I like Netgear products, but not at that price point. I've had a Netgear Nighthawk DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem/wi-fi router for a few years. It's Xfinity compatible and gets ~400Mbps hard-wired, and ~93Mbps wireless. Definitely slower than the Orbi, but it cost me less than $200 and serves the needs of our household very nicely.

you're finally getting the speed of wire via WiFi, my enterprise mesh system has been doing this for years without the issues, and you can't see it

Great video. We love ours. The new firmware they pushed out last week makes the connections even more solid. We pay for 2G down and 1g up. Easily see 700-800 down on most devices and 500-700 up.

Power blip is an issue with all netgear routers in my experience. That's why I always use a UPS for both my modem and router.

I absolutely would not pay for extra subscriptions if I’m paying that much! Truly is one of the main reasons I’m considering the Asus ZenWiFi Pro system!

I would recommend buying a small UPC and connecting your modem and router to it. This way when the power goes out or flickers there is no interruption.

Thanks Josh. This is amazing. After looking at this I wish I had never shelled out so much money getting my Access Networks A750 WiFi6 Access Point. The Orbi looks like it does the same at 6 times cheaper.

Honestly, I prefer Asus AiMesh Networks... They have basically all the features for free...

Just bought the new Orbi WF 6 w/2 satellites, no I don't think it's a fair deal for consumers to pay extra for the Parental Controls or Armor Up features. Very informative video, great features pro's and con's.

Curious to know what the distance you have from your router to your detached garage. I am in a similar situation and looking to upgrade just to fix that since my garage is my game room and office all in one...

Interesting what you said about the power blips. I had an orbi a couple of years ago and loved the performance when it worked. However, due to the power dropping periodically it meant that my online backups to Backblaze would stop and I'd have to manually start them again which was completely pointless and put a bad taste in my mouth. I now use the Linksys and they are solid.

I'm now getting consistent 1.3k mbps with the new wifi 6e Xfinity router. Can't believe how good wifi 6e is. I hope you'll be able to review the new nest wifi pro since they're wifi 6e and a much cheaper option

Great review. I am a novice to this subject. I will be watching the WI-FI video you recommended here.
I'm surprised you are using this router in an apartment mostly because they say this equipment can cover 5, 000 sq feet
What is the reason for this router? Are you trying to sustain those high download speeds?

Does this make the WiFi more consistent?
