Glad you enjoyed yourself and the views. Quick note tho, from a local. It’s a hard hike because it’s basically a bruiser stair limb, but it’s nowhere near the most dangerous. In fact, it’s pretty safe. It’s one of the safer trails here. It’s straight up and back without any cliffs or steep drop offs. Because it’s so safe, that’s why it’s so popular. The real danger is getting there without proper hydration during a dry, hot day and getting dehydrated to the point of getting sun sick.

if you go early enough there is a local who runs it with a pineapple every morning eats his snack at the top then runs down at first I didn't think he did it everyday but sure enough everytime I went to hike it he was there either on his way down or at the top eating his pineapple love that guy my main motivation to get to the top fast was to sit with him and talk

this is probably the safest hike to do in hawaii. people always on it all day long, the footing is solid and stable, and its just walking up big stairs.
