His burnt ship was also restored by Davy Jones and became the Black Pearl, which nicely ties in the debt Jack owed him

"One good deed isnt enough to absove a man of a lifetime of piracy"
"But it seems enough to condemn him"
Takes on a whole new meaning.

"People aren't cargo, mate." Would have become such a well known line if that was left in.

Why would they cut that? That's the heart and soul of the character!

the people in tia dalma's village are shown to be in mourning when jack dies to the kraken, because they are believed to be the slaves jack freed

When tyranny becomes law, resitance becomes duty.

That brings more depth to Jack's character. He's not just a pirate but a compassionate human with a soul and a purpose

It’s funny that a pirate has better morals than a governor😂

You know with this scene that line in the first movie where Jack mentions that a good deed is enough to condemn a man has way more meaning. Cause while it may seem like a snarky line he came up with in the fly he's actually referring to his own personal experience

This is probably one of the most important details they cut out from the movies. Legit, it both fit the themes of the movie and also builds upon Jack as a character

I don't think there is any other character in cinema that I love as much as "Captain Jack Sparrow". What a brilliant actor 🙌🏽

Should not have been deleted. This is a vital piece of who Jack really is.

They should have left that bit It gives so much more depth to his character.

This should have ABSOLUTELY been in the movie! This gives so much more depth to Jack Sparrows character.

And I find it interesting that Beckett doesn’t even ARGUE with Jack in this scene. He doesn’t argue that the cargo is cargo. He simply moves on, like he could care less what the cargo was.

“Point being, you cost me a lot of money.”

Hence why he was the, “worst pirate” norington ever heard of. Because he didn’t actually steal anything, he set men free. Also also, why Davy Jones demands 100 souls from jack. Because he set 100 souls free. Sick sadistic bastard has a sense of humor. I love this extended lore for Jack so damn much.

Good lord this comment did some numbers.

Cutting this scene was the biggest mistake this film franchise made.

What a shame this scene was cut. A scene this powerful should never have been left on the cutting room floor.😢
