It's a shame so many of these "Michael is surprisingly competent at his job" scenes ended up on the cutting room floor over the years. It makes it feel more realistic.... Michael is actually great at the business/sales portion of the job, he's just such a train wreck personally that he always overreaches and makes it weird when trying to manage his employees.

For anybody confused, the scene itself of Jim walking in was in the original episode, but the following phone call revealing it was Angela was cut.

Headcanon: Jim actually recognized that it was Angela, he was just trying to cover for Dwight by claiming that she was a hooker and not Angela.

That's odd, cause I could've sworn Jan was always complaining that Michael came too early.

Looking back Michael should have gotten a lot more credit for that. There should have been a large group taking him out to celebrate, a large bonus, and considering later episodes a large reluctance to let him go later on.

After years of obsessively trying to get jan to like him, and getting negative responses almost every single time. Michael finally gets one tiny nugget of a positive response and says “well maybe next time you’ll estimate me” with a stone cold glare 😂
