FULL NOTICE: A lot of people have been wandering what happened exactly to Malcom. Apparently in the Novel They were killed at the hands of the Colonel after pleading for his army to make peace with Caesar and his tribe. There bodies were left there to rot. By the events on War for the Planet of the Apes human civilization has long since collapsed. The species as a whole has survived, but it is presumed that a large percentage of the global population is dead from either the Simian Flu or the resulting collapse of society.

Bro lost Will to the virus and mercenaries, lost Malcolm and his own family to the colonel. This series was brilliant and tragic all at once

“I thought he was crazy.” Confirming that the colonel realizes Malcolm was actually telling the truth.

Malcom was a good man he should have never died because good men deserve to live

In the Director's commentary, Matt Reeves says this scene was cut because it was meant to show the Colonel succumbing to the virus, which is why he is saying so much to Caesar, but it didn't make that much sense for the Colonel to go on a large speech (there's a lot more to this scene) when the virus makes you mute, so they cut it.

Malcom's death = Completely lost hope for humans and apes coexistence...

They killed every character I loved in the dawn, blue eyes and now Malcolm 😅

Caesar lose all the humans he love, first the Grandpa (Will's Father), then the Father (Will), and then his friend too (Malcolm).

Honestly the whole story of Malcolm and his family is tragic because even if they were lucky enough to avoid being shot or killed, nature would have finished them off further down the road, and that’s probably worse than any other fate.

This would have been such a great scene to have had in this film. The only thing I did not enjoy of Dawn was we never saw what happened to His original owner (obvs they died from virus) but would of been nice to have had some insight, and this would of been a good connection between War and Dawn really. I believe there was an accual flashblack scene made for this cut too where it shoes the Colonial meeting Malcom

I think the biggest reason why this was cut from the final product was because the directors didnt want to seem like the Colonel was kissing up to the apes too much. This movie is, in a way, meant to show us humans have done very messed up things to both apes and each other. So having the main antagonist sort of i guess regret his action would go against his whole "Killing my son to save humanity purified me" idea.

I hate it when major supporting characters be it villain or ally is never shown in a sequel, but the explanation of them of not being their is explained by expanded universe material outside the film. Off screen deaths are frustrating for audiences

Always wondered what happened to Malcom. Such a tragedy.

I'm glad they kept this out. Leaves Malcolm's fate ambiguous and we can imagine that he and his family got to safety and our living somewhere in peace.

Oh man I had a lot of respect for Malcolm

Seriously they had to do him like that
Then again i guess dying from a headshot is less painful then dying from the virus

For real Malcom damn like killing he's the one who reminded Caesar of Will.

It's a great addition. Sorrowful from both perspectives, really.

Glad this scene was cut. Much like Franco after Rise, we don't need to know 100% of what happened to the Humans in Dawn. Did they all die? Probably. Could they have escaped and be living somewhere? Sure.

You're not gonna know all answers in real life.

Omg not Maclom he was such a good, honorable and humble man. I was hoping this wasn't canon because it's a deleted scene but it's in the novel too. Man that's just heartbreaking it's a real damn shame him and his family deserved so much better.
