For reducing their shyness it helps a lot to talk to them. Not necessarily the whole time. My interpretation is that they take the voice into consideration for assessing the mood of the human. If the situation was a trap, the human was on the hunt for crows then the mood would be excited/aggressive. But if someone talks calmly and quitely then a hostile intent seems to be much less probable.

I just love the tidbit about filming the crows behind your back just to see what's going on. It's very cool that that eventually led to all this :)

I befriended several families in my local park. But they're so smart! The furthest I've come, is have jump up on the park bench on the opposite side of me. I've noticed the same pattern in all of them. Because I go visit them in their territories in my lunch breaks, I've a bit of a disadvantage. After making contact, they will recognize me and my patterns, and come for the food. But after a while, they learn that I'm a constant, dependable factor, its easier and safer for them to wait up in the trees until I've made my rounds, and collect the food when I'm gone. So, I've started experimenting with only rewarding the ones that come towards me. It has been slow, and it has been hard not to spoil my beloveds.

I found that if i look at the food i put down, they think Im still interested in it, so will sit back....also found they communicate through blinking, reminds me of Huginn and Muninn being Odins eyes across the world '')

Being a part of nature and being immersed in it is lovely. Respect of nature has it's great rewards. Thanks for showing us how you achieved it.

These are great tips, thanks.
In 3 or 4 months crows have only came down to the food twice while I'm there. Every other time they wait til I'm gone.
Very strange, because I feed them every night at 7pm and they start calling if I'm even 3 mins late

I love the timing I met my crow-friends around a year ago and your videos come out just a bit too late when I already made my experiences and desicions about how to behave in certain situations, or find informatinons about their behavior. But in hindsight I have to say that the timing is perfect. Not to early, so I have to do my own research, not too late because the feedback that I am doing right is very important too. The timing with the fledgelings for example was perfect too and explains the delay you have to make the videos and load them up.
Sorry for the many words. I just wanted to say thank you for your work and love you put into this. 😍

I've started looking for crows to feed. No luck yet getting close. I'll try your advice.
I like your accent. It sounds European.

My little “goth babies” love unsalted pecans. A female crow has begun to coo at me in the same way she coos at her chicks so that’s a good sign

Sie mögen nicht beobachtet zu sein, weil sie sich vorstellen können was der Gegner sieht, während sie ihre Beute verstecken. Es ist überlebenswichtig intakte Vorräte für einen Not zu haben.
