I’ve worn em since the 80s with HPS and halides. If it makes one’s eyes hurt it’s dangerous

I never go out in the daytime without my shades. I'd wear them for opening the tent and looking around too.

UVB is something to protect against but in the visible spectrum I would be worried about fatigue. I remember those blurple led just torching my eyes. It makes sense with the research you cited

I got liverspots on my hands becourse of having my hands under hps lamps for years, so remember to use gloves if you train your plant under lots of light.

When the lights under the canopy go on, I like to put on basic sunglasses. When they shine up into your eyes it can have that snow blind effect.

Worth mentioning that a lot of LEDs are actually classified as laser devices. Besides the obvious risks of burns or even cancer, exposure to these blue lights can seriously interfere with your body's perception of circadian rhythms, which affect not just sleep, but also genetic transcription and replication in cells.
At the very least, respect Shane's advice and pick up SOMETHING... if you can afford the lights, SPLURGE on protection. It's the musician's equivalent of ear plugs.

I always used my regular sunglasses but I really need something specific for LED

I have a pair of method 7s that came with my grow light. They’re cool sunglasses I get lots of compliments on them. I have a bunch of other sunglasses too and they all block bright light pretty well
