Saturday morning update: Elsa weakens into a tropical storm

As of 10 am on Saturday, Elsa has weakened into a tropical storm. The center was located 40 miles southeast of Isla Beata, Dominican Republic. Elsa is moving west-northwest at 29 mph with maximum sustained winds of 70 mph.

Friday afternoon, Elsa had strengthened with winds up to 85 mph then dying down to 80 mph by Friday night.

Do you know why hurricanes have female names?
