His grandmother was the only one who never left his corner.

I love this scene and everyone always remembers the shower part (What’s wrong with me? 😭) but I love seeing the rare bit of lucidity from Grandma Saracen “I’m sure glad you’re here because I think Matthew needs your help.”

This scene is one of the only redeeming qualities of season 2. No matter how off course season 2 got, Zach Gilford always delivered a powerful performance

Heartbreaking. Sometimes the good guys can't catch a break.

Such a powerful scene. Coach Taylor realizes that Matt is just a kid who has been through so much in his life and all the sudden he feels sympathy for him instead of anger, man this show was so great. The characters were so believable and real.

Matt's grandmother was the kindest sweetest lady!! When she says "Sure glad you came by because I think Matthew needs your help" she was reaching out for Coach Taylor to step in as a father figure

One of the greatest scenes in all of tv

And no Matt, Julie didn't leave you for a better guy. Julie left because she was delusional and thought she could do a better.

This is the best acting that Zack Gilford (Saracen) did the entire series. Made it truly believable. I feel for Matt though he went through a lot.

One of the best things about this show was how much Matt’s grandma had so much respect and love for Taylor. Every time she saw him she could see how much of a good man he was. Other than that. This scene is one of the best scenes in all of this show. Love it all

this was real acting. coach remembered in this moment that matt was still just a child who's been through so much as a teenager. he was carrying the weight of the world on his own for so long.

This was the absolute best scene of the series. Searched for it years and years hoping to see it spotlighted. Glad it finally is. What a performance.

Everyone left Matt:

Coach
Julie
His Father
His mother
Carlotta

And yet he finds a way to keep going forward in life. Now that’s courageous!

Anyone really impressed by how physically strong Coach Taylor was, he threw around that other head coach during the hurricane like he was a bag of laundry too.

Coach loved Matt like a son the whole series

Fire scene. Coach Taylor’s relationship With Matt and Tim is on a whole nother level because they both had a relationship with Julie( I know tims wasn’t romantic but still there) and they both had father issues like the coach.

When the show was actually airing on TV, I wasn't able to catch every single episode. Only years later after actually seeing each episode in their entirely did I really see how amazing the show was. Some seasons are obviously better than others, but the overall show was a masterpiece. I don't know if they'd ever consider some kind of reboot, but I'd be on board with it.
