I was wondering when you were going to get around to that. A testimony to your design that with only a top the BMW is good as almost new! Keep the short vids coming, I love em!

There is marine plywood which uses poliurethanic glue and won't open like that when it receives water on it. And with a good paint it will last for ever.

Th a t was plywood. As vid started, i thought you'd laminated cardboard somehow. Wow, "doesn't like rain" = understatement!

Plywood does really well with moisture, you want to see something do horrific with moisture grab some MDF or OSB

That’s what marine grade plywood is for.

Boiled linseed oil!
I made a roof for an outside space out of 1/8" plywood. Covered the top with boiled linseed oil.

When i dismantled it 2 years later, I was able to reuse most of the plywood panels.

(Edit: 1/8", not 3/16". Apologies)

Not enough time in the rain. Looked like a bit of glue left.

Does the new plywood have a different opinion on rain?

Depends on the plywood actually. Here in Europe we have Phenol formaldehyde resin plywood - it can withstand water for hundreds of years and can be used in the boat construction.
