What’s always been crazy to me is how the mycelium (white stuff growing throughout the bag) is the actual main mass of the organism. Fungi are weird

This is awesome. I now have no choice but to start an oyster mushroom farm in my living room!

In my area the flies lay eggs on oysters while they grow and the maggots that hatch eat them from the inside out. Everytime I find a seemingly perfect flush in the wild they are ruined in a day or two. Just another reason to grow em indoors👍

That's what I do with my spawn, purchased one grow bag kit one time and been growing oysters off that original culture, been about a year now

I grew pink oyster mushrooms a couple years ago. Was super fun to watch grow! Cuz you can literally see a huge difference every day that you grow em. Great for kids and you cant beat have lots of mushrooms to eat

Wow u make it look simple 👏
Is it possible to explain this process step by step and also mention what's required in order to complete this process and how long 😇🙏

They’re seriously one of my favorite things to eat. I feel like they’re as good as crab to me.

You can buy spores and some pre-poured agar plates. Germinate spores on agar, innoculate sterilized grains, innoculate straw or masters mix with spawn.

Or once you havw fruits, clone them by depositing a thin slice on agar.

I think one of the best tips I ever got from y'all is using the corn stock for growing mushrooms. Did you do a video yet about how your using the left over spawn

We find these at my duck camp that directly backs up to bayou meto in the delta of Arkansas. Love these mushrooms. I find lions mane and lobster mushrooms as well especially if it’s rainy.

I’ve been on the fence about trying this because for some reason there seems to be a fear factor. Tell me more.😁 i’m definitely going to watch more of your videos. Thank you.

I've been trying to do this without the disposable, single-use plastic bags. Currently I grow a lot of shiitake, and if you aren't doing shiitake logs, I recommend you start. It's all upfront labor for years of production. For oysters, I'm trying to use food grade 5 gallon buckets I can get from a local grocery store. They'd already be trash, I'm just diverting them, and they're nearly infinitely reusable.

Do you bother with a sanitizing step for your growth medium?
