wow i never thought that you can't overcook mushrooms but now i really understand that. my family used to pick mushrooms from the forest every autumn. before actually cooking theese mushrooms my parents boiled them to reduce all the dirt and other bad stuff from the forest. only after mushrooms were boiled we fried them or cooked mushroom soup

If anyone is wondering why mushrooms can’t be easily overlooked, it’s because their cell walls contain chitin, which doesn’t break down so readily at cooking temperatures the way that cellulose or membrane lipids will

Some meats hold up to this as well, though usually you want to chill them so they don't just crumble when cut.

I love to fry up slices of slow roasted pork. Getting that nice crusty outside while still being real tender is such a treat.

Awesome, I'm curious to what the technique is called for putting your spices in a tin/aluminum container in with your stock. I have never seen it before, but I would guess that it makes it easier to separate. Do correct me if I am wrong.

This is sorta similar to how i usually saute mushrooms, i only add a tiny amount of oil to the pan and then like 1/8th cup of water and let them boil until dry at which point they'll start to fry. Lets them get all their water out and prevents them from sucking up a ton of oil like they would do if you just put them into a pan with oil and nothing else.

If you dehydrate mushrooms and rehydrate them, they have such a nice texture

Mushrooms are easily top 3 favorite foods. It sucks I live in a desert so I’m pretty much stuck with simple varieties.

I generally boil mushrooms for 15 minute before using them in anything, definitely gonna try this

What kind of grill is that? Is it electric/safe for indoor use? If so I think I found my next kitchen appliance (as somebody who lives in Canada but also enjoys grilled food)
