very much appreciate your intentions to teach people how to think.

I have been studying consciousness and perception for many years.

my major focus has been on how and why people choose a certain perception of reality for a given belief as well as how that affects their behaviors and choices.

I also focus on how emergence, intelligence and overall awareness, (or lack thereof), compounds logic fallacy.

I did a tremendous amount of polling and even revised my strategy of these polls so that a majority of the test subjects we're caught off guard and had no idea that I was studying them. at least not for the majority. certainly for the majority of the questions I asked at any rate.

obviously some of them may have figured out I was studying them part way through my polling but I typically can ascertain when they figure that out because their demeanor will change; then I know that anything they say is not specifically reliable psychological research that is applicable to the particular subject I've listed as evidence but rather evidence for other psychological profiling and study.

I also spent a tremendous amount of time studying human behavior through observation... Watching people interact and again, they had no idea that I was studying them.

I've studied a decent amount about all of the major fields of science over the past 17 years... you folks clearly have a good handle on neurology,

I'm guessing that med school is part of that equation?

I very much enjoy studying neurology... extremely useful information, real science, not like the majority of borderline pseudoscience psychology that has grown in such status quo driven popularity over the years.

I appreciate how much you've incorporated it, ... I've only watched two videos but one of them was laden with some decent information.

not all of psychology is flimsy and some of it is extremely fascinating... It has its issues but I am to remedy some of that.

I really enjoy the study of intelligence itself. I watched the lecture series unintelligent study from the great courses. I also watched so many documentaries that I don't even bother to remember the names of the films and I can't recall what information I learned in what documentary anymore lol.

can't afford college education and I have resolved in making friends with college professors and have had moderate success in doing so... I am capable of inferring answers based on my overall awareness and absorption of our knowledge pools so it's not like I really need college at this point. But I'm addicted to knowledge.

science gives me a fucking hadron! ;-p"

I'm assuming that your intention is similar to my intentions, that is to help bring the masses out of the dark ages by teaching them how to think critically correct?

there is a couple of things I have learned over the course of my studies. one is that a large percentage of our population, ... estimated that 40 - 60% is just not capable of the type of processing that superior intellect produces...

I suspect the factors are predominantly genetic but quite possibly poor nutrition during important developmental stages and lack of healthy mental stimulation throughout those same key developmental stages could play a major role in this deficit... although, I lean more towards genetic predisposition and then unhealthy diet as well as lack of mental stimulation just compound the issue.

my goal has been to get them to use their brains for the very least have a basic framework on how to think critically and as a side goal showing them just how fucking stupid religion is. I've tried just about every strategy you could imagine on every personality type I can identify, numerous different combinations and in different amounts... I have even gone out of my way to attempt different strategies on particular subjects and examine their changes and thought processes over the course of several years and continuing to tweak their mind...

so the second thing that I am fairly certain time observing is that being too confrontational or beating them too badly at the high school debate team game will result in their feelings being hurt aka the ego getting its butt hole punched in. there are also certain combinations of temperament and personality traits that will only change if they are completely ripped to shreds mercilessly also...

I now have different tactics for each of them but what I'm learning is that even if you succeed in any manner the best we get is that the majority stop sharing their stupid thoughts and they no longer will argue with intellectuals., the other minority that needs to get ripped to shredded will submit to your will and agree with you but they won't actually understand why for a very long time if ever... that is Depending on overall mental complexity, comprehension, memory, speed of learning... All aspects level of understanding and ability to change. I'm sure you guys already know a lot of this but I can't presume and in order to prevent misunderstanding and discourage nitpicking I try to be extremely specific these days.

so my new tactics to manifest change in their thought processes are to make light of their fallacies, while also trying to make them feel like it's not their fault or that they've just been duped, and that it is actually other people that have manipulated them when they were at a vulnerable stage in their life. I serve them a scapegoat on a silver platter so that they can protect their ego. this way I try to break the psychological defenses of the people with the personality traits and temperaments that need to be shredded, while at the same time getting the majority to choose to be more open about the thoughts I propose...

I don't think that tactic works as much as I would like it to; it is a work in progress...

So many different combinations of things within a mind that it's very hard to cater one approach, in a video, that reaches every one of them perfectly.

so another tactic I'm attempting is be on their side and try to show them how science can be used to help prove there beliefs...

Then once they've joined me as a teammate help them learn science that will empower them to support their belief.

I then show them where the science leads until it pretty much disproves their cognitive bias.

one strategy that I'm almost positive will work is if a large percentage of their peers all ridicule them to the point where their social survival is threatened, then in order to prevent being ostracized from the tribe they will instinctively conform to the rest of the herd... Combine that with perceived points of authority also sharing that same consensus and we could make significant progress with the people who are already poorly developed adults, young adults or teenagers.

realistically, that's not going to happen at the level that would be effectual. at least not anytime soon.

authority wants to keep people stupid so that they can be manipulated into economic slavery and excessive consumerism.

then there are certain factors that prevent the majority from consolidating their perspectives...

Sports driven mentality brainwashing is a major contributing factor that is preventing our unification. combine that with an innate supporting psychological perceptional paradigm of excessive individualism and we have a very counterproductive manifestation.

the manifestation is a personality trait or behavioral expression.

this dangerous and all too common personality trait produces a great deal of cognitive bias, typically more in the way of confirmation bias. the opposite end of the spectrum.

people become like a drug addict chasing a biochemical reward that they associate with winning, a shot of dopamine. every chance to make a conversation into a sport, in debate format, in order to acquire a win and inflate the ego.

sometimes there is a combined primitive instinctual directive to assert oneself as the alpha in the interaction or group. this promotes the act of crushing people in an attempt to put them in a submissive state...

people who display alpha male tendencies are usually the type that needs to be shredded or absolutely decimated in combat of one form or another before you can change their mind about anything and the fact that there are so many of us now, that interaction occurs very often and has been fortified into a default mode of discourse.

you can look at a lot of this like I thought virus. it's an emergent property.

fucking shit, when I started making this response I had no idea it was going to go on this long. apologies for my prolixity.

normally I wouldn't share a thought this large in a forum post but I am presuming that you guys are the type of people that don't fear reading a page or two if it's valuable information and something you're interested in.

additionally, I'm confident that you have the ability to understand what I'm saying and I'm not wasting my time.

to share knowledge is in a way to achieve immortality.

Your example of an informal fallacy is actually a valid statistical syllogism.

Basically formal at face value just doesn't make any sense whereas informal at least at face value makes sense if you don't think about it?

For assertion P implies Q, you cannot immediately say Q implies P. However, you can say ~Q implies ~P (~ = NOT).

Example:
P implies Q: If a hurricane hits a city, then the city will be damaged.
~Q implies ~P: If the city is not damaged, then it was not hit by a hurricane.

P implies Q: If you are rich, then you have money.
~P implies ~Q: If you have no money, then you are not rich.

I enjoy your videos but the second speaker needs to speak more slowly and more clearly. I have to listen very closely to understand what he is saying where this is not the case with the first speaker, although both speakers have accents different than mine.

Thanks!
