I don’t do it professionally, but I’ve been doing it for years in my shops. The only thing I regret is that I don’t have enough room for a big enough oven and paint booth to coat everything I build. But it’s a great way to protect parts and to enhance their beauty. As someone who can’t buy 50 pound containers of powder, I can’t try processes such as UV cures which I really wish I could do. I can coat glass very successfully though.

I’m confused. If powder coating an existing bathtub, how could that be “cured, ” since a curing oven is needed?
I am researching bathtub refinishing, and powder coating was mentioned as an option. Will it be a good choice for the refinishing process? And how is a bathtub cured?

Who in their right mind would powder coat without goggles and gloves on? That has to be an OSHA violation...

Well,
First you drop your powder
Then it melts till 200 degrees
And finally it starts to turn into elastic and plastic coating

So. What if i coated until 160
Some problem went wrongly with the oven and it turned off

Now, after 3 days i want to repaint them again
Should i scratch the paint and start again?
What if i just turn on the oven again ? They wont melt? Will the paint just get more hard and more plastic?
