I have the pioneer rev7 and I have to say now that I got the Rane 4 performer. I don’t use the rev7 anymore. With the Rane 4 performer I love using the split stems and use the hardware FX on the acapella, so many FX to choose for the acapella or sweep FX. I’m sorry to say but I love the rane performer more than the rev7 or the pioneer flx10. Specially since the rane four you can midi map Soundswitch when you hit the shift and hot cue. I don’t have to take the Soundswitch one to every gig . I can do it all on the rane 4 performer.

Enable stem split, then you can apply your effects to the vocals or the instrumental. Small change in workflow, but the end result is the same.

Henray Customs makes a butter Rug feel slipmat for the platters.

As a 72 advocate, I agree with the point about the 3rd output

I'll keep my rev7, thanks. Rane is still beast though. Never had issues with the "wobble"

I brought round dot stickers from Wal-Mart and stuck around the bottom of each turntable vinyl platter with one clear ring, now it's smooth as butter.

Big agree on the USB hub. Would love to hook my Rane Twelves directly in via USB.

It’s a Denon Prime 4+ with the motorized platters of the SC6000M.

Great review. Are you planning to use the Performer at any outdoor events? I would like to know your thoughts on how it stands up to warm environments. I used my Rane One at my family reunion. My Rane started acting crazy, skipping and becoming unresponsive at times. I attributed that to the heat. After I got home it worked flawlessly.

@10:30 mark for the Con of having the Headphone Cue/Master on the front, isn't there an option to Midi Map that on any knob on the top of the Performer?

The problem which you mention with the Rane 12 ("wobbly" sound when nudging the platter) only happens in USB mode. If you use them in DVS mode they don't have that pitch variation when you nudge them. Fortunately for me, I much prefer DVS mode so its a none issue for me

Using the EQ's to mix the stems has to became the norm, at least as an option.

Every part of my being is telling me, "you need this controller!" but if I'm thinking logically, I just don't think there's a whole lot I can do with this controller that I can't already do with my current set-up. Especially since I've relegated myself to being a man cave DJ nowadays with the occasional gig for friends & as a fill in at local lounges. My main rig is 2 6000Ms, x1850 w/ an Innofader & 2 LC6000s...if I were to use all that with Serato, can't think of anything I could do with the Performer that I wouldn't be able to do with the gear I already have. if I needed to consolidate all that into a single All In One then it's a no brainer but that really isn't the case.

Too me I have a feeling it’s the acrylic platter that causes friction. Just like my Rane twelves. For my Rane twelves I ditched the Rane acrylic records and replaced them with actual records and way better super slippery.. I just hope it’s not that.

Hey, I still have 8 mins of this video left to watch, but while it’s on my mind, I wanted to ask what type of monitors those are and what brand/type of stands/poles are they using to remain in that elevated position?

Reason I ask is, after buying The Performer, I needed a speaker/speakers & went with a Bose s1 pro+. I planned on buying a matching s1 pro+, however, I wasn’t sure if I should just go the route you seemed to have gone with those speakers you have. I only use the speakers to make mixes in the house. That’s why I’m thinking the Bose s1 pro+ may be overkill. I haven’t tried it out, yet. Maybe they’ll be fine as monitors to mix on. Out of curiosity, what would you suggest? I’d appreciate any info so I avoid buying something that may be unnecessary. For example, should I stick with what I have & just buy a matching one? Or may I benefit more from the sound of an actual DJ monitor made by the likes of Pioneer, or maybe KRT (not sure if that’s the name…yellow woofers.) Brands like that. Thank u for these videos. I appreciate the work u clearly put in. Not sure if you’ve done it, but I’d be interested in watching a review on one of these super low latency wireless speakers we can use things like the Prime Go with. I know there are products such as the SoundBoks 4. And that Wave8 I believe it’s called, etc…Just wondering which one you’d find to be the best when it comes to those types of speakers..That would be dope. Have a good night. ✌️

The slippery platter issue bothers me as well .. I tried cutting out other materials like the plastic thin sleeve that hold records and I even bought slip rings from DHC for the performer & im still not satisfied. Let me know if you come up with anything different.. I like my platter super slippery.
