I picked up a Rane One for around 1100 and got it just last week. I've always been a fan of Rane products and the layout is very similar to my Rane Seventy-Two mixer. Been having a lot of fun with it so far.

I just picked up a Rane One with ProX case for $1000 about 3 weeks ago. I am in with this machine!! It feels just like having a portable set of Rane 12s to me. The feeling I get when DJing on this thing is incredible!

If you could take th3 Rane One's platters and put it on the Rev7, it'd be perfect.

Just because you have a Technics dj1200 on that shelf you have all my respect!

Just bought the Rane one used came with an innofader installed and a dust cover for 1000. Im simply blown away i love it. With that said i was coming from a REV1 and im sure the Rev 7 is amazing too

I've both units and I feel very comfortable but I prefer the Rev7, the S line mixer layout is very intuitive, the pitch on the top remembers me my 1210 and the onboard fx's are great!, only thing I miss from the Rane is the build quality

It's a tough call really. I would say that if your goal is tactile feel for the mechanics of scratching I would go Rane. If the effects are the more important part of your act, then go REV. I guess it depends if you are more focused on the actual scratch feel and sound or if triggering the effects is your thing. I think there is one more difference- I believe the Rane has more of a turntable feel (doesn't it wind up like a turntable when you start it?). I believe the Pioneer "cheats" that and is instant start like a CDJ. One other thing to note- both are heavy if your idea is to carry it to gigs.

If only the Rev 7 had the Rane One Vinyl look on the jog wheels, that would have made this controller 1000x better

I’ve been pondering a proper controller for a long time and I just decided to order the Rane One. I had been using the Rane 68 since 2010 until it was no longer compatible & I had to update the whole rig. At that point I reluctantly went with a Pioneer DJM-S7 which I wont say is bad but I have been annoyed about especially as the S5 came soon after and would have honestly done everything I needed with the luxury of being USB-C powered.
It was my general slight aversion to the S7 which is my main reason for deciding against the Rev7 - eg, I find the stock delay functionality infuriating, the lack of ability to fine adjust the delay time which was 1 little dial on the 68 then 1 dial for wet/dry and another for feedback. That is how a delay needs to be set out for proper & intuitive tactile control - on the S7 the regular delay only has a control for wet/dry and then high pass filter 😵‍💫 i hate that the extra effects and mixer settings wont run without the computer and prefs app open… most of the other effects are kinda useless. If they could fix the effects that would address the major flaws in the s7 which to me seems to be the entire reason for it’s existence (performance using the included bells and whistles).
I also find the audio to be more tinny/brittle than my old Rane which has lovely sonics. The S7 filters never sound pleasant, granted they have some decent setting options compared other fx/prefs.
So for the aforementioned reasons I have ordered the Rane One and am excited to see if it is a follow on from what I so miss about the Rane 68 & to be fair I have always always been a fan of everything about Rane battle mixers, their faders, sound, eq/filters and functionality since first using them in the early 2000s.
I am particularly concerned that pioneer’s acquisition of Serato could jeopardise Rane’s licensing in the near future and I would hate to have another considerably pricey workhorse be rendered obsolete after a decade 🧐 does anyone know more about where this may lead?

it took vestax twenty years to compete for a solid market share with technics and here we are in 2023 with hundreds of controllers on the market made of plastic that will either fail or be fked within a couple of years. and everytime they release a new one with pretty lights and some cursory upgrades idiots are cueing up to pay their hard earned cash. modern djs are playing themselves... the manufacturers are screwing us.

The lack of a Cue button on the Rev7 is a 'No' for me.
