I do not care what anyone else says. Daemon may want Rhaenyra more than anyone else, but that man was in love with Laena. Just that two second clip of him watching her get burnt by her own dragon because she didn't want to die in childbirth (I fully believe he would have never let that happen based on his response to the guy telling him about the c-section option and him immediately asking if the mother would live first), he was so distraught and heartbroken watching her die, and we got deprived of watching him comfort his children afterwards.

The show did her justice, idc. Her death in the book was dull and bland. Of course, things like that is how life was for women then but GRR Martin is pretty cruel to most of his female characters on the basis of their gender. It’s nice to see one of those female characters be shown with real autonomy and individuality in the cruel things that she faces.

yes he did love her as Rae loved Harwin strong.... but I do not believe they were in love with the other character....
DaeRae were meant to be together from the beginning they were in love from the time she was a child I do believe that's the only reason he killed his wife was to come and marry her and he realized she was just still too young so he had to kill some time and it hurt him to see her with somebody else so he had to get away I'll be definitely loved Laena but he wasn't in love with
but everybody seems different. they both had time to kill and they did it the best they could.... when they should have been together they should have never mixed bloodline it should have stayed Targaryen and Valerian or Targaryen and Targaryen that's what made them so powerful for hundreds and hundreds of years... well Daemon didn't mix bloods he knew I'm not for incest like I said this is just a movie it's a series I don't believe in anything it's sickening but it seemed to work pretty good for them because they were untouchable for hundreds and hundreds of years... and have some sneaky people come in just take it from you because of mixed blood that's all that was the things get back on track with the pure blood
