WILDERNESS ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT (WALS) TRAINING 2022

The Wilderness Advanced Life Support (WALS) training was successfully conducted last week, May 16-21, 2022 at Gulakan-Panabol Adventure Park, Bocbocon, Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte.

The Wilderness Advanced Life Support is a 6-day training which aims to equip rescuers the necessary skills in responding and giving life support to patients in the wild. The course is consist of basic and advanced life support for water and land rescue, integrating varied rescue operation techniques and jungle survival skills of the Higaunon tribe.

The said training was led by Mr. Robert R. Jugao - Las Nieves Tourism Officer, with the support of the Local Government of Las Nieves headed by Municipal Mayor, Hon. Avelina S. Rosales. It was facilitated by Dr. Teofredo T. Esguerra and his team: Michael D. Odiongan, Cristy Dante C. Shepard, and Erwin T. Rañola.

There were 47 participants coming from the Emergency Response Teams and Mountaineers from Cebu and Northern Mindanao, representatives from the DENR, Las Nieves MSWDO, Las Nieves Rural Health Unit, accompanied by local participants from the Higaunon tribe.

Batch “BAGTIKAN” officially completed the course on Saturday, May 21, 2022.
