I love the way he teaches. Super clear and explains everything on a very basic level without taking too much time/over explaining. He's really easy to listen to!

Just what I needed to see. I needed a refresher on how to transmit MIDI data to computer via USB, as I haven't dabbled with MIDI in quite a while. Thanks for this posting this video, it answers a lot of questions.

I got the Roland um one…. Had to wait out the holiday but it arrived! And you don’t lie.. the iPhone needed no software or updates really.. I’m mind blown 🤯. My old Casio ctk -481 is actually gonna get used after collecting dust for over 20 years!!!! You ROCK!!

Thank you so much for this video!! Very helpful! My grandpa just gave me a Yamaha PSR-300 (released in 1991 according to my research) that doesn’t have any USB or XLR cable stuff. This video has just helped me use this old keyboard to make my music! Thanks again, Pete! I’m surprised this video was made a year ago! Great job!

You are my hero right now! I bought an old cheap Casio knowing the sounds would already be outdated back when I got it but having midi was all I wanted. Now 20 years later, still unaware of how to utilize my Casio…. But avid GarageBand user.. you just made my world!! I’m concerned that using the premade samples, whether I tweek them or not, it’s still not my work, my music, just my mix.. now I can create my own samples with ease!! Thank you so much!

Subscribed immediately, just because of your nice personality and the incredible patience, no "to cool for this" style vibes. Amazing channel bro.

This is such a big problem solver! I got a Yamaha pf85 which was made in the mid 80s, now I could extend the sound back with my computer and Ipad, because it only has 5 sounds. Thanks for the detail.

Hey there Pete.. I have been sitting here staring at my old Casio Keyboard and wondering how I could incorporate it into Garage Band.. I googled Midi to USB connections and simultaneously your YouTube and the Roland website came up in the search.. You continue to be a great source of information for me. I passed your YouTube channel info over to one of my musician kids and he is now benefiting as well.. Thanks..

Thank you for this video, you have helped me buy a similar cable to allow me to connect an old Roland RP301 to Logic Pro X on my MacBook. I siting for the cable to arrive but hopefully it will work. It will also save me from having to buy a separate midi keyboard, and enable me to use the full size Roland that I already have. You have saved me money and space. I know this is an old video but I really appreciate it. Liked and subscribed.
