With more focus on your one minute title pun, my guess is a lot of people's midi keyboards aren't triggering anything, or there's no sound. A simple explanation of what "receive from" and "send to" are, and perhaps a common setup example would have been beneficial to beginner users.

I Think when explaining you should go a bit slower when demonstrating, just was a bit too fast.

Thanks

As someone mentioned below, the "receive from and send to" part seems to be the big question for a lot of beginners, including me, but he just blew right by that part. I've never been able to get the midi keyboard working correctly and I even get a error message on startup that says "midi port not found". I've used Studio one for years for recording, but trying to use the midi keyboard has been very frustrating.

Thanks for posting the video. Question: When I create a new keyboard and click on the drop-down menu, nothing appears below it. Do you have any troubleshooting methods I can use?

Hi, I use Studio One 5 and recently bought an Arturia Keystep 32, I have not found a way to use the snobs, "transport" controls or the expression wheels of the controller keyboard. You can help? Thanks. Gus

WAY TOO FREAKING FAST. Last time I tried doing this, there were like 3 steps missing.

All good and well that taught us NOTHING. I have 2 keyboards, a Native Instrument S49 (just bought it last week) and a Nectar Impact 88+ which has drum pads and faders knobs etc that can also control the Studio One mixer (yes I know the S49 can but I like the faders and knobs better and want it on nks architecture cos its fun to use).

I have them both connected at the same time to the same computer and want the S49 to control instruments through Komplete Kontrol using nks and the Nectar controlling other vst instruments via standard midi. How do I set them up to work together at the same time with independent instruments? All I get is them both playing what ever track I open and I want them to not talk to the same instrument aaaugh

I could complicate this more by adding my old yamah 01x but I am having enough problems with step one - getting two keyboards connecting each controlling different instruments on separate tracks. Assuming I am useless and ignorant could SOMEONE ANYONE try and help me to answer my problem or even POST a video????

SIMPLE VERSION: All done and can't hear anything? Try turning on the track's monitor button (next to track record button).

DETAILED VERSION: I set up my Nektar Panorama P6, but when I played it, even though the "midi" light in the bottom left was lighting to indicate signal received, Presence XT's onscreen keyboard keys didn't mirror my playing (they didn't move) and there was no sound. I could click on Presence's on-screen keyboard with the mouse cursor and get sound but nothing from my hardware. I went through both the Studio One 5 set-up and virtual instruments sections in the help manual and went through setup in the Panorama manual as well. I re-downloaded drivers, reset everything, re-connected but could get no further. Finally, two or three hours of my life later, for some unknown reason, I clicked and turned on the monitor button on the track (next to the track's record button). Whaddaya know? Sound came out and that also caused the virtual keyboard on the screen to move as well. I don't recall seeing anything about the monitor button connecting controllers and virtual instruments in the sections of the manuals I read, but it should be there if it isn't. Anyway, if you're hooked up but getting no sound, simply turning on the monitor button may be the answer.

I just wonder why the S1 pre-configured settings for Korg nanoKontrol 1 and 2 are not working at all and I had to use a New Keyboard setting and configure it that way. Many thanks for any feedback, MT

Thanks for the video, I just got Studio One 5, how do I map my Nekter Impact LX 49 Midi controller?
I can play the VSTs, however I can not use play, stop, nor any of the knobs, faders ect.
Are there any tutorials on this exact question?
