He said that he could have scored more only if he was a little selfish and the assist stats proves that. If he wasn't played out of his position (to a central midfielder) he could have broken Shearers record.

He covered every part of the pitch, could pass, tackle, was a clinical finisher, was highly accurate from long distances and volleys. He was very fast in in prime too.

At a time he was world's best player before Messi and Ronaldo burst on to the scene he isn't given much appreciation apart from man utd fans.

Wayne rooney was an amazing player.I have seen almost his all matches when i was just a little boy.I only remember some of them but those were historic matches for Wayne Rooney.I am a big fan of him and also respect him for what he has done for the club of Man United.
