Rooney was hardly used as a No 9 during his time with Man Utd. If he had been used as a No 9 more often, he would have definitely won the EPL Golden Boot.
I would rank him as one of top 5 best players in the Premier League era, higher than the likes of Hazard, Gerard and Lampard but lower than Ronaldo and Henry.
