So proud to say I was there..took my dad! He said it was the best night of football he'd ever seen. We always spoke about that match. He sadly passed away a week before Christmas last year 😢❤

The level of this era is phenomenal. Rooney got tackled and stood up right away to pass the ball, playing most of the game with such high energy. Rooney is the reason I love United, and I've never looked back. 🔥🔥🔥

Rooney was an absolute monster, one of my favorite players as a kid.

I am ashamed to say I forgot how dominant and how good United were. Incredible and powerful.

That roar and applause from the United fans when Beckham came on, not many ex players who were still playing for another club would get that sort of welcome back ❤

Rooney would have costed 300M in today's market what a player he was

How good was Ronaldinho's first touch. What a player.... even when out of shape, aging and carrying injuries.

wayne rooney played the 9 position in the 09/10 season. one of only two times he did that for United. He scored 34 goals in 44 appearances.

Despite all the accolades Rooney received, he's still probably one of the most underrated players in United's history. He could have achieved much more had he not sacrificed part of his play to make way for Ronaldo.

People rightly remember Rooney goals and skills, but his work rate was above everyone, every single game he gave 100% much like Beckham.

These years were the best for football, such amazing players on both teams.

That front 6 is built around Paul scholes, 2 engines fletcher and 3 lungs park as fergie once quoted them to win the ball and get it to scholes, Valencia and Nani fly wingers for scholes to find with his long passing, and Rooney spearheaded the attack with ultimate running of the channels and changed football with his pressing abilities. Scholes is actually underrated if you think of the players on the pitch and he can control the game and make that front 6 do what he wants from them.

crazy how much football has changed. you barely see them taking a fall on purpose but keep on fighting, more risky shots etc.

That 09 10 season from Rooney right after CR7 left to Real Madrid was absolutely phenomenal. I remember him being in the headlines for 80% of Uniteds games week in week out. His best individual season and most on form he ever was throughout his career. Underrated player Rooney

Beckham showing his class, what a volley. Put in some lovely crosses too. Milan had a retirement home at this point in time but wow what a treat it must have been to see all these stars on a weekly basis.
