2025 VW Tiguan Revealed: Volkswagen
Показать описание
The third-generation Volkswagen Tiguan is arriving in 2025 with a fresh new look and plenty of updates to keep it competitive in the highly-contested compact sport utility vehicle market. Volkswagen has revamped the Tiguan’s exterior with a more modern design, aiming to resonate more strongly with the preferences of American buyers. One significant change is that the Tiguan will now be offered exclusively as a two-row configuration, doing away with the three-row option seen in previous versions.
Under the hood, the 2025 Tiguan boasts an upgraded version of the turbocharged 2.0-liter EA888 engine. This improved powertrain now produces 201 horsepower, up from 184 horsepower in the previous generation, and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. For drivers who need towing capabilities, the 4Motion all-wheel-drive models now offer a towing capacity of 1,800 pounds, an increase from the earlier limit of 1,500 pounds.
Although official fuel efficiency figures have not yet been released, Volkswagen anticipates better numbers thanks to weight reductions of about 170 pounds, made possible by the increased use of aluminum in the body structure and suspension. The updated Tiguan is built on the MQB Evo platform, replacing the previous generation’s MQB Classic foundation. This new architecture not only enhances the vehicle’s performance but also allows for a design that is simultaneously larger yet more dynamic. Features like a sharp body crease, squared wheel arches, and a sporty rear spoiler add to its athletic stance. Buyers can choose between standard 17-inch wheels or opt for larger 19- or 20-inch options.
Inside, Volkswagen has brought significant upgrades. A 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit is now standard, complemented by either a 12.9-inch or optional 15.0-inch infotainment display. Two-zone automatic climate control comes as a standard feature, while a three-zone system is available for added comfort. Storage and convenience have also been prioritized, with an expanded 7.6-liter center console compartment and an improved wireless charging pad that now delivers 15 watts of power.
Safety features have been enhanced with a total of 10 airbags and Volkswagen’s IQ.Drive suite, which includes advanced systems like forward collision warning and adaptive cruise control. Pricing for the 2025 model has not yet been announced, but with the outgoing model starting at $30,305, the new Tiguan is poised to remain a strong contender in Volkswagen’s lineup.
