Who's on Kamala Harris' list of potential VP picks?

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly are among the names being floated as potential running mate picks for Vice President Kamala Harris' 2024 campaign. Chuck Rocha, a Democratic party strategist, and Kevin Sheridan, a Republican party strategist, join CBS News with a look at Harris' potential VP considerations.

Harris' optimal VP pick is Pete Buttigieg hands down! Of the candidates on her list, he's by far the best communicator. He clearly loves a debate, and always comes prepared with verifiable facts and figures, simple analogies, and quick responses -- even when he's being grilled by Congress or far-right news reporters. (In one of his many appearances on FOX News, there was a live audience which gave him a standing ovation!) He served in our military -- a great way to develop leadership skills, demonstrate loyalty to our country, and learn how to thrive under pressure. Then he entered politics as a mayor in Indiana (South Bend, ) so he's had loads of experience being held to account by people of all kinds. Republicans have become downright nasty, and that concerns me for the others floated for VP. Buttigieg simply refuses to be bullied. A Harris--Buttigieg ticket will be unbeatable and give Democrats the landslide victory they need to send Trump packing!

Both (Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro) or (Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly) would be good for VP running mate for Kamala Harris.

I feel she should not pick a senator, unless there is a guarantee that there will be a Dem successor. In Arizona, we desperately need Kelly, and the Dem party needs ALL of its senators right where they are.
BTW, read about an astrologist who said if either Biden or Trump were to win, neither could have finished his term in office. I do hope Biden will live into the 90's. He deserves it. I also hope for Trump to live a long life, but only if he is either in jail or stripped of his wealth.

No way she will pick Warnock, or Jon Ossoff for that matter. Both would be great, but she can’t sacrifice losing the Senate for the Dems. Governor Kenp would appoint a Republican to fill that vacancy should she win.

Josh Shapiro (Pennsylvania is a must win with 20 electoral votes at stake)! Dems must hold the Blue Wall, balance the ticket, and add a candidate who knows how to beat Trump (Shapiro has done it in court).
This has gotta be a shrewd pick.

Bashear isn't a good bet. He doesn't have the appeal of MILITARY + NASA of Kelly. Gabby Giffords fight aligns perfectly with Harris's fight for gun regulation. Hes from a border state & can speak to immigration unlike the other options. And she gets Nevada and Arizona from Kelly easily. Best candidate to win over men.
HARRIS-KELLY simply rolls off the tongue !
