Remembering the Oklahoma City Bombing which occurred on April 19, 1995. The worst ever act of domestic terrorism in U.S. history. 168 people, from the age of 3 months to 73 years of age, were killed in the attack.

I was a Technical Information Specialist for California Task Force Team 5, one of 28 Urban Search and Rescue Teams from around the nation that were deployed. I was tasked with capturing the team's deployment efforts through the eye of my video camera.

The following year I participated in a television segment for a program called "Day and Date" which was "live" and aired nationwide on CBS on 04/18/96. They utilized footage I shot to help create the segment. I did the interview from OCFA FS18 in Trabuco Canyon on CBS' program 'Day & Date.' It was 'live' to NY at noon (9:00 a.m. here) and aired at 4:00 p,m, back here in L.A.

Obviously, I was on duty that day. This was like a segment of a Battalion Chief exam, sort of. Not exactly how I expected my '15 minutes of fame' to happen. But, 24 years later, I'm happy with the result. The phone rang off the hook at the firehouse that night with words of praise for the job I did. With that, it's humbling to be a part and piece of history and experience it in the way I did.

We Shall Never Forget. 🙏❤️
