I feel like the best gaming experiences come from games that are criminally undervalued.
Case in point: Hollow Knight ($15) and outer wilds ($25). I have had more fun playing both of these games than I have with any other game.
And I foolishly spent $100 on forza horizon 5.

Yes. I don’t even have to watch the video. I bought it recently, and the game and its soundtrack are absolutely amazing. The story is great (whatever you do, please don’t spoil yourself on it, I’m glad I didn’t), the puzzles are pretty cool, and you can figure out everything just from information you learn from other places. I’m working on the dlc right now, and the music is amazing (especially the song called “echoes of the eye” and both of the River songs), and it looks really cool.

The only downside to Outer Wilds is that you can only truly experience it once. But even then... I'm profoundly grateful to Mobius for sticking to their guns and sacrificing replay value to craft a singular experience that is as near perfect as anything can be.

If you are reading this: go play Outer Wilds. But understand: you MUST go in completely blind. There are *no* progression systems in this game. It's all about discovery. You can finish Outer Wilds 10 minutes after opening it - you just don't yet know how. And unless you have dementia, there's no unlearning this game's secrets. So please, I beg you, go in blind, and make those discoveries for yourself.

And yes, the DLC is just as spectacular.

Such a great game. I got stuck at a part and had to get some help from Reddit, but except for that it was absolutely amazing. Beat it earlier today, and it was one of the best games I’ve ever played.

Echoes of the Eye is the best DLC I’ve ever played. I’m not even sure it’s fair to say it subverted my expectations- I had no clue what to expect and I was still blown out of the water, and left doubly impacted by the end of the base game, too
