Are The PS4 & Xbox One Too OId?

Cyberpunk 2077's launch has been a mess on the PS4 and Xbox One, and some are saying it's simply because the hardware is too old. Should you be worried about more cross generation games coming out over the next year?

PS4 has games like Spider-Man, Horizon Zero Dawn, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, etc. PS4 is plenty powerful enough. It all just depends how well developers will optimize games for the console.

The Jaguar processor on the PS4 was used in laptops in 2010, so in some sense the hardware is actually 10 years old.

Dude I still have a ps2 and ps3. Couldn't afford the ps4 or ps5 so any console is never too old for me.

I mean if the PS4 can run RDR2, TLOU2, God of war uncharted 4 even though it turns into a jet. Then CDPR could've optimized it way better.

3:11 Thats not a fair comparison at all because although yes the PS4 did release in 2013 its uses older tech before that time. Like how the 3DS released in 2011 but uses a GPU from 2005.

If i buy a game for my console, I expect it to run decently, and do what the developers intended to do. If it doesn’t, I want my fucking money back.

1080p 34 FPS on the minimum spec 2013 PC hardware is a slight concern for base PS4 and Xbox One, which whilst also came out in 2013, would likely be the equivalent of saying in 7 years time a game requiring a minimum RTX 3090 means a PS5 or Series X is comparable because they both released in 2020
