I have had my xbox one s controller ever since it came out. The deadzones are still accurate, not a single bit of drift on any game at 0% and my buttons are still tactile and clicky. To whoever told you the xbox controllers last between 2 and 6 months, are eating them or playing underwater. Ive smashed my fingers so so so hard many times on the respawn button for BFV, and its still as clicky as it was years ago.

Here’s me opinion.

First off all you should not judge a controller by how it functions by playing claw. A lot of people don’t play claw and all of our hands are built differently so the experience is definitely not the same for everyone.

Comfort: The Xbox controller definitely fits better in my big hands. I hated the ps4 controller at first but after getting used to it it’s actually not so bad. Probably pretty great for someone with smaller hands. I’ve heard some people complain about the Xbox controller being too big. Not a prob for me but I definitely see where they are coming from. The Xbox controller also has some more weight to it which may be bothersome for some people.

Bumpers and triggers: Xbox because they have nice click and they have trigger rumble overall very satisfying to use. Also it’s very easy to move from bumper to trigger because there’s a little groove for your finger to rest in the bumpers. The ps4 ones are not at all bad though. However, when I play claw on fortnite I find myself accidentally hitting the bumpers sometimes because they are so soft.

ABXY buttons and dpad: Ps4 because they are way softer and quieter. The Xbox ones very loud and the dpad is clicky and very small. Never had a problem pressing 2 buttons at once on the ps4 dpad.

Analog sticks: The Xbox sticks are quite soft which may be a problem for some people. I play with a much higher sensitivity with the ps4 controller because it’s easier to handle it with the higher tension sticks. With kontrolfreeks the Xbox ones have almost zero tension which is a bit hard to get used to. Both are fine though once you get used to them and it’s pretty much just personal preference when it comes to the shape.

Button layout: I play a lot of driving games so I find myself doing better with the Xbox layout because my finger rests better on the left thumbstick. However I like the ps4 for shooter games and the dpad is actually something you consider using for navigating the consoles home screen. The dpad on the Xbox is almost like an afterthought.

Options share and touchpad: Never has a problem with the buttons on any. I always find myself accidentally taking screenshots on my ps4 haha. Touchpad is a nice add on for typing and stuff but the ps4 dpad is great and is usually my go to. It’s also nice having the touchpad as an extra button.

Battery life and functionality: Ps4 kills it with features but Xbox kills it with battery life. A worthy trade off if you ask me. I’ve never had a problem with changing AAs (I have rechargeable ones) or plugging in my ps4 controller after using it. The AAs in the Xbox controller also add a good but of weight to the controller which personally doesn’t bother me but it may be annoying for some people. I know the fanboys always go around yapping about this one.

And my overall opinion? KEYBOARD no jk once I get into the game I totally forget about what controller (or console) I’m using. Just forget about it and enjoy the game!



If your controllers only last 2-6 months... take it easy. Controllers aren’t meant to be smashed! Had my controllers for years with no problems at all. Never broken a controller in my life.
