I had a friend gift me the game files to SWG back in 2007 so that I could play SWGEMU with him, and I still have them to this day. I wish all games were preserved as heavily as this one is.

This really was a great little game for its time. I used to do the creature handler class and collected a small pack of dinosaurs as pets. They shook the ground as they walked, looked epic fighting the AT walkers in the game. In a way the game probably offered too much for the time it came out. Resource gathering could be a full time gig, or dancing was a huge thing too. Just "making camp" popped up a small village wherever you were at on the map. And the crafting... there was a randomness to it that sometimes just made for some exceptionally epic equipment. It was, admittedly, sort of a mess of unbalanced everything that never quite became cohesive... but it was fun.

Amazing. I was able to quickly become an master commando, master bounty hunter and novice combat medic real quick. Now I am an rebel ace pilot and got my own gunship with the help from rogue guild. At 1:17, I am the guy that is wearing the Yellow Rebel Marine armor with Acid Launcher fighting at Grievous clone with the twin red lightsabers.

For those that remember the Sunrunner Smuggler's Den and Kinder's Friday Night Brawls... it may be time to bring it back. This is amazing.

I loved this game back in the days. Never found a game like it.
I love how you can create characters in many ways and not limited to a class role from the start. None of this you are a fighter (with possible sub class down the line), you pick which weapons you use, what skills to gain and so on. Total freedom in how you play your character, not been restricted to certain weapons and skills from the starting choice. Clothing and armour had no level limit’s.
I had one character that spent a lot of time dancing in the cantina’s, and join a few hunting parties to help heal mental damage.
Anther character that hunted big critters across the galaxy, and help guide others on the lower area’s of Kashyyyk.
Even had a character that was a beast handler, explorer.
I keeping an eye out for hope that someone will make a mmorpg with the system that SWG had, giving as much freedom to players to make their characters the way they want it.

I think I'm going to try this. I missed out back in the day, but I did read about it in PC magazines. It sounded so cool.

I'm not really into MMORPGs, but I want to experience this one.

I missed out on this MMO. Always thought the player cities sounded like an amazing way to create your own stories. Might have to give it a try!
