Thank you very much, Pete! There are a lot of niche band albums only available on YouTube and I use VLC to convert them to MP3. When VLC randomly broke on me and stopped playing all YouTube videos altogether I couldn't figure it out for days and other tutorials weren't as helpful, but this was so quick and easy to follow. Everything is a bloody headache nowadays. Nothing woks like its supposed to. One has to waste hours just getting things to function. 15 years ago everything worked fine and was simple and to the point, options were plentiful. RIP INTERNET 2023.

Thank you so much! This has been a lifesaver. I have no idea why I didn't research this before. Downloading vids stopped working for sometime and I never got around to looking how to fix it.

I deleted the file and dragged the new file into the playlist folder and it works!

I can't believe it! I have watched so many of these videos and nothing was working. I think it is because they rarely say what version of VLC they are providing instructions for, 3.0.12 or 3.0.18 etc. But this one worked thank you very much.

My VLC folder only contains one folder called "sdk" last modified in 2015. I do not have a "lua" folder, plugins, etc. I have uninstalled VLC and installed the most recent version multiple times with no luck. Any ideas?

I have 10K local audio files that I wanted to mix in with some online files and then grab a subset of the combination of those for a music playlist. None of the online platforms allow for the importing of text files for playlists. There are 3rd party apps that will do it, but want a monthly fee which almost equates to the same amount of money as the actual streaming service.

This has now given me the perfect free solution. I can combine any subset of local and online files to create a playlist with 100's of songs of my choosing within a couple minutes.

IT WORKED!!! I had a youtube.luac file, deleted it and just copied the new one. THANK YOU for making this video! For months I've been searching for a solution and nothing worked. I've copied a previous lua file from another video but that stopped working. Thanks for making this video!!!
