AGRICULTURE was our strength! A 9 month growing season, large river valleys, and friendly nations on our borders.

Neil might want to read up on Commodore Perry's 1853 expedition to Japan.

By 1910, The US had the world's largest economy for over 50 years. That's not backwoods.

This is true. The US was a backwater until after the civil war. It wasn’t until the 1890’s that we became the world’s wealthiest nation.

Wrong again Tyson, the US aftrr the civil war in 1860 had a population over 30 million (more the England and close to that of France). New York city's population was over 850, 000. The US lead the industrial revolution in the 1890's with most of the worlds oil at the time coming from the US. Rockefeller, Carnegie, and Vanderbilt's, Morgan had created the American industrial empire before 1900. We went transcontinetal in 1870. This video couldn't be further from the truth.

Sub-Saharan Africa and the northern half of Africa might as well be two completely different continents, both geographically and culturally and technologically. Apples and oranges
