Skincare tips and tricks Q+A | Are You Doing Something WRONG?

In my teen years, I learned that I was doing my skincare all wrong! I could not get the acne to go away, and simple knowledge and easy nightly routine changes would have helped make a major difference. I also recommend finding yourself a good dermatologist. I am still learning, but wanted to share what I've learned so far. What are your skincare tips? COMMENT BELOW!

If y’all didn’t know, I recently started an esthetician program this Fall. Skincare has fascinated me for the past six or seven years or so... and although I already have my Bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurship & Corporate Innovation from Baylor University, I am going to school now to get my Master Medical Esthetician license at the Skin Science Institute in Utah. I'm learning about ALL THINGS skincare, hair removal, and so much more while in class and while working in the spa that my school owns!

So many of y’all have been asking about skincare in general, what I am studying, what my daily routines are, among SO MANY MORE questions! That is exactly why I decided to film this video. I posted on my IG story asking y’all to submit your skincare questions, and I selected a handful to respond to in this video. I hope yours was chosen!

Please remember, I am only a student and I am in the process of learning this information myself. I won't be a licensed professional for another 3-4 months. My answers to these questions are based on what I have learned so far in school and in practice, or what I have learned from my own personal experience.

Fellow esthetician here! I would recommend adding toner or even just sunscreen to your "basic" skincare! Toner after cleansing will help get rid of the extra debris and makeup on the face that a cleanser didn't pick up, bring your skin's pH level back and if it contains AHAs then it also slightly chemically exfoliates. Sunscreen is good to prevent sun spots, wrinkles, and a lot of aging factors :)

Just an addition to your “basics” list: Sunscreen! If you use one product on your face and that’s it, try to go for something with SPF 30 or higher. Not only are you preventing signs of aging, but you’d be preventing sun damage and skin cancer. Sunscreen is high on the list of basics, imo
