Big thanks to Ridge for sending me this wallet and supporting the channel! Here’s the site if you want to check them out! > ridge.com/WHITESEA

No plugin developer expected a youtube comparison involving a real plate. Respect.

Surely the main reason you can’t find the “best” one is because it’s completely subjective.

I like SoundToys Little Plate, has 3 knobs. Decay time, high pass, dry/wet.

Works great for me

Arturia has a drop down window for further eq and modular it can get clean or funky I love it. And that gave it out on Christmas 🔥

Always expect so little from YTs audio algo it never ceases to amaze me the clear differences in these types of comparisons. Good work.

Wow, love the format you took for shootout (comparing to hardware; and you didn’t pick a favorite)

Appreciate that you are trying new things on your channel. I loved this video!!

I love this. I just saw your tape emulation comparison video earlier today before this popped in my notification. So please keep making these videos. I am really trying to understand the plate sound and this helps.

I love this. Helps me discern the differences in plug-ins (and developers) without having to spend a day trying it myself. Thanks, man!

The Arturia Rev-140 has been my go-to recently. I got it for free a year or so ago and it really sounds great on snares, vox and guitars.

Cool format — nice to hear the differences and characteristics between the plugins.

I have the Black Rooster Audio plate and I honestly like it quite a lot. Several types of "metal" to pick from and some tweakable knobs but all its basic settings. I can usually get the tone I want in just a few clicks.

The amount of hours/days it (probably) took to produce This video deserves an award in of it self. You’re doing gods work my friend.

I personally really like the valhalla plate the most. It's the most versatile plate reverb on the market, and for 50usd it is also pretty affordable. I love using it on guitar and vocals, it has a really nice spacious sound! It might not be the most realistic one, but it definately has an amazing sound!

I tried almost all of the plugins in your test myself for a project recently. My conclusion was that it completely depends on the context and individual track which of them I liked most. They all sounded best at something, but none sounded best at everything.

I think you missed the "Advanced" settings on the Arturia plug-in. If you click it, you can also set pre-delay, HP-filter, modulation and post EQ.

Arturia Rev plate 140 is great (my favourite sounding out of the ones I own) but my default is Valhallas

I think this format is extremely important. I've never seen posts like this on YouTube, comparing multiple plug-ins with real hardware.
