The best plate carrier is the one you make out of duct tape and hope.

Doesn’t matter what kind of plate carrier you have - as long as you maintain *ACTION POSE* while you’re explaining it.

Maybe the best carrier are the friends we make along the way

Had a guy in my battalion that fell into a well in Afghanistan and went straight down. The quick release for his carrier allowed him to dump it and get to the surface under stress at night. It's a worthwhile addition to any carrier.

Templar's Gear CPC-ROC gen. 3 is awesome! Ain't cheap, but modular, elastic waist band, cordura 500D, laser cut and you can remove the quick release on the shoulder (left and/or right) for easier shouldering your buttstock.

Defense Mechanisms MEPC would be an excellent fit for you (make sure to get the molle rear plate bag), especially with the hybrid cummerbund. I would also recommend you to get Qore Performance Icevent shoulder pads, they are great for creating some space between your body and the plate carrier.

Good stuff!
Pay attention to the key points he's talking about folks, there are a lot of great systems out there but it's nearly inevitable some augmentation/ customization will need to be undertaken to cater a rig to the individual. I've done multiple modifications to various systems over the years out of necessity, so that's something to always be cognizant of.

For brand semantics, one of my favorite manufacturers is Shellback Tactical, their old and new PC's are quality and fit great. LBT of course makes great systems too but they're generally a little more costly. I've also got a 5.11 TacTec PC but have had to make several major changes to it due to not wanting the quick-release pull cord system.

The alternative is to run a slick/ low-profile Vest and a Chest Rig or LBE or Battle Jacket over it, those work great as well and have just as many if not more modular options than a PC.

It also depends on how much Žiga is ready to spend. Sure, if money is no option you can get a custom-made plate-carrier that will fit your body and your body alone!
Think of it this way. A plate carrier is essentially fabric, just like a suit or tuxedo:
- Can a large percentage of the population go to a store and get a tuxedo that will fit them OK? Yeah.
- Would an off the rack suit ever fit you as well as a tuxedo that was tailormade for your body? Of course not.
The same idea can be applied for plate carriers that are either One Size Fits All (hint: if it fits all, it fits no one), or come in some non-standardized sizing protocol (like Small-Medium; Large; XL-XXXL) that doesn't carry over between brands and sometimes not even within different product lines within the same brand (I'm looking at you Crye!)

Since Žiga already knows Husar, he should try getting some time with their Kirys model if lightweight is something very high on the list of priorities.
I have some friends wearing agilite gear and swear by it, while personally I love my Ferro Concepts Slickster (bonus tip: get it in that Black Multicam for the much sought-after drip!).

Templars Gear Crusader or Direct Action Spitfire. I'm using both of them, they're really lightweight and durable with minimalist design. I'm highly recommend both manufacturers, they make good quality products. PROUDLY MADE IN POLAND! 💪🏻

I have an Agilite K19. Very comfortable, light and versatile. With the AMAP III, i have hydration and a lot of space to carry essentials with me.

Try Whiskey Two Four's plate carrier 24. Simple. Very well thought design. No bullshit. Well built. Affordable. But... if you want the Formula One of plate carriers you may go for Javlin Concept's A-Jack. Knock yourself out.

Comment section folks writing books. London Bridge Trading Company and Varusteleka haven't ever made me custom gear but it always seems to fit and work for me.

I LIKE THIS!
Looking forward to the information you collect!

Personally I use a Cry JPC 1. Lighter than my issued boots and fully custom with no quick release without modification. Also K19 have a very good reputation.

Currently have the Agilite K19 Gen2, its really good and comfortable, but one can have problems shouldering the rifle because of the shoulder pads/quick release.
They made a gen3; there you can change the shoulder buckles. Also the cummerbund has only 3 MOLLE slots so be aware of that.
Other than that its a great plate carrier. I may be changing to a Templar's Gear CPC-ROC, because of the bad cummerband of the agilite, lets see!

So many low grade recommendations in here... on a big budget - SHAW Concepts ARC PC is a beauty, FS strandhogg similar. Other quality ones that have velcro inside to facilitate the padding and tick a lot of your other boxes include the Raine Tac RTG PC and PC 24 from Whiskey Two Four. All great quality and super well designed.
