The “Sombrero” Galaxy, M104🌌!

M104, also known as the Dark Galaxy, lies about 28 million light years away in the Virgo constellation. Its distinct features include a bright, white core surrounded by thick dust strips forming its spiral structure, where star formation occurs. Believed to host a massive black hole at its center, M104 has an apparent magnitude of 8 and an estimated mass of 800 billion suns. Discovered by French astronomer Pierre Méchain in 1781.
