Beethoven welcoming trombones to the orchestra! That transition from 3 to 4 is absolute perfection from the master, what a great introduction of the powerful timbre provided by trombones! Sublime is not a powerful enough word to describe this symphony. It is eternal.

The 3rd movement completely incapacitates me every time. @1:45 is so majestic it's staggering. The build !! The ebbs and flows / ups and swells !!! It's utterly fantastic.

Not only do I love to listen to Karajan orchestra, but I also love to watch him conducting and his musicians playing.
If there is tornado warning siren blaring out there, he and they don't even care.

c'est fou comme ce concerto me fait penser a une bataille napoleonnienne....il y a tout...la preparation de la bataille...la canonnade, les doutes, la charges de cavallarie et la victoire finale. Vous avez la bataille d'Eylau des vos oreilles.
