Paavo Järvi and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.

The heading to the fourth movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 is "Allegro," which means "fast." This finale emerges without interruption out of the third movement. No longer in a grim C Minor, the music is now in a jubilant and exhiliarating C Major. If fate was knocking at the door in the first movement of Beethoven's Fifth, he has now seized fate by the throat in this finale – to use Beethoven's own words – and emerged victorious. Interestingly in France, Beethoven's Fifth Symphony is not nicknamed the "fate symphony," as it is in Germany, but instead the "chant de Victoire" – a march of triumph.
Deutsche Welle and Unitel Classica present Estonian conductor Paavo Järvi and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, recorded in the Beethovenhalle Bonn in 2009.

I remember the first time I heard the 5th all the way through. This nearly blew me off my seat. And still excites me. I love Paavo Jarvi's style.

that transition from the scherzo to the c major finale, palpable energy, the trombones have been waiting the entire symphony to come in on that. singular moment in music, still gives me goosebumps even after the 1000x's time... :)

Pure bliss. To think Beethoven was nearly deaf around the time he composed this.
A genius.

The opening bars to the 4th movement (although the 3rd rolls into the 4th with no pause) must be about the most orgasmic moments in musical history. And boy did they play it well.

.. And I must humbly say because of it ...I have!

Is there any Third Movement in any other symphony so glorious--and so-well--played--as here? And hen the amazing 4th movement to follow! Simply superb! I've heard it all fifty times before by now and, like reading a classic, I am still overwhelmed by the grandeur of it all. O Beethoven, you generous patron of worldwide humanity!
