As an Electrical Engineer dialectical materialism was kind of obvious when I encountered it because it's basically talking about the control theoretic concept of feedback

As a biochemist Richard Lewontin is one of my favorite Marxists, it is beautiful how he explains dialectical materialism by applying it to biology.

the biologist stephen jay gould also thought that dialectics was very helpful.
also, i think that mainstream natural sciences became somewhat dialectic when peer review was standarized as a part of the scientific method.
peer review turned science into more of a dialogue. so now a test's conclusions are like what hegel called thesis, a peer review test is the antithesis, another peer review test is the synthesis/thesis and so on and so forth.
hopefully mainsteam science will become more dialectic soon.
