I watched one of your videos and was extremely impressed, amazed at what you have accomplished. I know all of what you are doing cause we have done it here on our little homestead except nowhere near as remote as you. I am envious since that has been a dream of mine since childhood, I am now 71. I was saddened by your loss and humbled by you strength. Something you said about the worst happening in one's life so what can stop you now, I'm paraphrasing. You really impressed me a lot, you cut down trees and they all fell in the same spot, sign of a pro. Your saw started right up and I bet it is sharp. All the things I watch you do, I can relate to which I know aren't easy and are challenging. Your courage, strength and tenacious desire to accomplish a goal would be an inspiration for so many people of all ages. I wold think that there would be a lot of people out there who would want to come help you just to help you cause I would if I was younger. I love that kind of work. I have had to cut down hundreds of small and large trees in the 25 years we have lived here in the foothills of the Sierras. All our heating is from the wood I cut off our property as you do too. Has to be cold up there. So I just wanted to say what I thought. Chris

You go girl! My 28 year old daughter is a level 1 pipe fitter in the oil fields. She's top of her game already. You are just like her. TIP: If you plan to build a future garden site... make your slash burn there. The soil will thank you for it. TIP 2: Never trust a falling tree. As soon as it starts to go, get a long way back. They can kick back 10' to 12' in an instant. Great content.

PS: just watched several of your videos. You remind me of the female version of James of "Wild Homestead". He's building a cabin by himself in Northern Ontario. In 7 months, he's gone from nothing to nearly 100k subscribers. My wife and I watch him every Saturday. If you post more often we'll watch you on Saturday as well. Thanks again.

Good Luck and keep at it! Solo clearing is hard! When you start milling you'll have a sudden charge of energy. Milling is when you feel like there is some accomplishment from all the clearing. Also, for me a wood chipper is surprisingly satisfying and a fun pause from clearing. Don't know what you do with all the banches but a chipper and fresh chippings are valuable. I've been working on my land for 3 years now, a 3/4 mile driveway, cabin, shed, garage all by hand.

Watching this woman take down these trees and put them right where she wants them, This is a real art some men never accomplish !!

Greetings, just discovered your channel this morning and this is my first one to watch and will watch the others also, please take a bit of advice when limbing saw on one side of the log and you on the other will save a cut where you don't want it like your leg etc, on the same topic cut those limbs off flush with the trunk it will save lots of headaches when you get them on the mill. Keep up the good work.

I have recently started watching your videos. I like what you do a lot.... love watching the process. Off course it is a slow process, but that brings across the reality of it. Dont worry about it not being "exciting" or something like that. It is exciting to see the process in real. I am a woman alone too, my partner died just over a year ago, we were together for 17 years. I understand many of the things you are talking about and love the things you do. I am in Europe and looking for land in Finland (a similar climate to Alaska). My plan is to build a cabin there. Keep up the work, you are good!
