Hey man! Thanks for the mention! Great to see your reactions to Aurora - one of my absolute favourites 😁👏🏻

Great reaction, guys! Loved your discussion about the meaning. In “Mothership”, the “companion piece” to “A Different Kind of Human”, she says that “The good ones always die / So that is why we bring them here”. She was asked about that line in an interview last year:

Interviewer: “A key to ‘A Different Kind of Human’ is the song ‘Mothership’. You sing there that ‘The good ones always die’. Are you thinking of anyone in particular?”

Aurora: “Yes, I am, but also more. Everyone who dies young. There are a couple of people in my life who have died too soon, and there are a couple of people who have taken their own life. The world became too hurtful for them to be in. And Norway lost a lot of people July 22. I lost someone there who was very close to me, and who I now carry with me everywhere. It’s about finding tools to handle something that is so painful.”

One of those tools is writing songs. She wrote “Little Boy in the Grass” about the Norway terror attacks in 2011 (her boyfriend was killed at Utøya). When a friend died in a car accident, she wrote “Why Did You Go a Place?” and performed it in her funeral – this is unreleased but available on YouTube. Her second single was “Under Stars”, which is “about us. About the people we’ve lost through time, and how we handle that loss. The guilt of still being alive when they are not, and the hope that they might only be sleeping, maybe still dreaming, under the stars“.

This performance was also extra emotional because the mother of Silja Sol, the backup singer, had died just a few days before.

Aurora🇧🇻 probably singing about her self because she's really a different kind of human🥰

Yes there is definetely something diferent about how she sings. She is not a product of musical industry as most singers nowadays. She sings with her heart and about what she feels and not about what people tell her will bring more money.

Aurora is pure goodness trying to spread love and hope to us all in this dark world.
She is a very deep and wise young woman and has lifted me out of many dark moments in my life. She is my inspiration and we all could learn something from her.

Love Aurora... keep reacting. I’ll stay tuned.
My suggestions:
The Seed
Through the eyes of a child (live stripped version)
Churchyard

The mother of the female background singer and musician (Silja Sol) died a few days before this concert 💔.
In my opinion it gives this performance a special vibe and meaning.

She is amazing. Her band is amazing as well. They sound well whether fully equipped, acoustic, or accapella. She does wonderful cover as well. She always gives them her own twist. Enjoy perusing her music.

Aurora started making melodies when she was 6 and writing lyrics to them when she was 9. Her song «Lucky» she wrote when she was 9 (its hard to believe). You should continue with «Runaway» (music video). She wrote this when she was 12. This song/video inspired Billie Eilish to start with music. She has so many fantastic songs and she is amazing live. She loves nature and the earth (you will notice that in her songs). Please continue with reacting to Aurora. I really love your reactions. Btw she is the «north wind» in the movie Frozen 2 (singing the humming). She has also uploaded her singing the original song from Frozen. She has a lot of great covers uploaded, but she is an extremely talented songwriter herself, very unique (she also co-produce her songs)

This is a wonderful AURORA song (especially if you understand where she is coming from / what she is trying to achieve thematically in this album. I should point out that she's very secular, yet spiritual), but she is so diverse (yet always recognizable in terms of her unique voice and stylistic signatures), and I recommend her powerful environmental anthem: "The Seed, " either the music video (which is brilliant), or the live version she performed in a forest (HAIK Concert 2019). Her live performances will introduce you to other aspects of AURORA (the way she moves to the music, her expressiveness, etc.). The Nidaros Cathedral concert she did with a chorus and a mini orchestra (including a harp) is simply amazing, as is the HAIK concert, plus her performances at KEXP in Iceland, and The Current (plus others).

This is up there with her best, and at her best she is superhuman, frankly she's a goddess. This is by far the best of the three or four versions of this song I've heard. Oh and Silja looks stunning here btw.

Very folk sounding. This is the 1st time I have heard. A little like Jewel, Crystal Bowersocks. Remind me of some of the Hippie music. Great job guys.

From what I’ve read: she was bullied as a little girl in the village in Norway where she grew up and spent all her free time in the forest with the animals. Her two older sisters were her best friends and protected her. She was terrified of performing but wanted to help people with her music. The calm down before a show she would whisper the value of Pi, through hundreds of decimal places.

Please react to more AURORA, she's awasome live and this one even being amazing is not even close to her bests

Regarding her singing - I hear a lot of Joni Michell in her.

She (and her amazing musicians) are also famous for their covers - especially of Aurora's own songs - as they seem to love transforming songs according to "mood of the day".

One can listen to "Running with wolves" in studio production, live stage production (more rockish), stripped live versions ("Warrior" or "Through the eyes of a child" anyone?) or concert versions (Like in Nidarosdomen or Nobel Peace Prize Concert or Haik or when she is playing for her Brazilian fans) - it is like they are collectively reinterpreting her songs for any occasion. To the point that someone should make a longer reaction video/mash-up of Aurora with band covering Aurora with band doing a single song in different settings. It is quite fascinating how bendable her songs are in terms of the "atmosphere" they give it.

Hi guys, nice reaction. You've entered a beautiful place, Aurora's realm. Prepare yourself for amazing harmonies, incredible individual vocals, and songs as deep as any you will hear. Mature, thoughtful songs which, even if they touch on sad subjects, are somehow uplifting. If you pay close attention to Aurora at about the 2:30 minute mark of the original MV you'll see she is almost crying. Her wonderful backup singer playing the guitar in this lost her mother 2(?) days before they made this video. Amazing talent, amazing band, ENJOY! 🎶🙏
