I loved "The Silent Waters". Brooks is so sweet. I read this book on my Kindle which was nice, because there are so many quotable passages and I don't mark up my books, so I was able to highlight them in my Kindle instead. I loved that the characters may do some heartbreaking things to Maggie (namely her stepmom, Katie and her step-sister, Cheryl) but Brittainy Cherry then gave the reader the reason why the character was acting that way. So you realized that they weren't just stereotypical book villains, but merely human! I've read both "The Silent Waters" and "The Gravity of Us" this year and Ms. Cherry is my new go-to author when I want a book that will make me cry my eyes out.

'The Bitter Riot Inn, I got on audible. I couldn't finish it. The h was so annoying. She was almost 30 and acted like a teenager with her love interest. And after what happened with her son's father she should have been less trusting. And she was injuring him wherever she got startled. I loved 'Juniper Hill' by the same author, but was so disappointed in my second book by Devney Perry. Will try out your recommendations by Catherine Cowles. Good luck with a new school year.

LOL I was the one who commented on your review for TVIHK. I was saying that it reminds me of Something in the Way series by Jessica Hawkins. How in that series they literally don't even kiss until book 3. I think this might be along those lines but it'll be a trilogy. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it though! 😞
